You probably need a trunk solenoid to do the lift gate (not the glass), because they tend to be a bit more heavy duty.According to most reports, if your vibe doesn't have the power kit, it's a little tough, because the locks in the vibe use cables instead of metal poles. But I don't know any specifics.

A fellow at A1 Electric suggested I try W15F on the liftgate, but did not know if it would be easy or doable. Below is his e-mail reply to mine. Does the factory installed power door lock also lock the liftgate? Anyone reading this who has a factory power lock package?Same-mail from A1:From your description it sounds like it would be possible to add a W15F to the rear hatch to lock and unlock it. I don't know how easy or difficult this may turn out to be. If there is no knob, you'll have to connect the lock actuator directly to the latch itself. There may be a spot on it to attach a lock actuator or there may not be. Sorry I can't be of much more help.

it sure can be done... i had powerlocks retrofitted to my '04 Base and the installer did the lift gate lock as well (not the glass).

Trying to not high-jack the post, but I do have a question...Just bought my Vibe GT used, and it did not come with any key-fobs. It does have power door locks. Can I just buy a key fob remote and have it re-programmed to work my doors/gate/glass???I noticed that Autozone is now selling remotes. I am also watching eBay for some remotes. BUT before I spend the money, I was asking for some input if this is a simple reprogram deal, or not...ChrisLansing, MI

Hi! Don't know if you still need the information, but anyway, it could be of some use to anybody. I just bought a 2004 Vibe and will install power door locks to all 5 doors (exept the rear window unfortunately...). Here is the parts number I got from the one who's installing the system:TL6204 (4 doors)TL6002 (hatch) can be install on either window or hatch but not bothView this page: http://www.techcast.com.tw/gear.htmlHope to be of some service!

I bought mine without power locks and had them installed through MASS Electronics for a reasonable amount for parts and labour. Though I also had them set the car up with an alarm system on all the doors and the trunk including bump detection. However because I don't usually use the two back passanger doors, I only had the locks installed on the two front. Either way those are on cables I know that much.As for what kit MASS uses? No clue.

scherry2...that trunk release looks like a cable. Has it been determined for a fact that the trunk lock uses a cable and not a post?

get a piece of solid cable with sheathing around it from the wrecker all cars have it for heater cable or vent cable it is almost a perfect match to the factory cableinstall your aftermarket actuator and quick tie the cable along side the factory cable bend the end of the cable you made the same as the factory cable then hook it in to the hole along side the factory one and it works perfect doesn't change factory operation at all keep your cable as straight as possible.next time i have my door pannel off for something i can snap some pics"don't cut into or splice directly onto the factory cable"
