I had a fender bender this weekend. To make a long story short.. I ended up with a gash in my bumper from a trailer hitch on the truck I hit.I know I will have to replace the upper bumper cover and the energy absorber. The estimate lists the bumper for 376.14 and the absorber for 138.92. GMPartsdirect.com has these much cheaper. OEM #'s 88972146 and 88970441I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with a repair shop that would let you supply the parts and them just do the work. I can save about $200 if I can get the parts myself.
I would ask the local dealer or any local body shop. They should do it no problem. Just tell them you already have the parts, you just need them installed. $ is $ to them, be it getting the parts or installing them!

Their price might include paint as well.Like the other guy said, most shops won't care one way or another where the parts come from. I'd say you might want to try and just do all the work your self, doesn't seem like its alot of work as long as the frame is fine.
