Why are Vibes so expensive in Puerto Rico

Post by SenenCito »

Hello all, probably not many of you remember meI bought a vibe GT a little over a year ago and had to give it back to the dealer because I found out they sold me one that had been crashed as new, I had originally bought it for 23k. Well now im looking for another car and once again id like to be in a Vibe and im looking around and these are the prices im seeing now2004 Vibe GT 27k2004 Vibe 23k2005 Vibe 28k (holy ridiculous price!!)I even ffound the 2003 GT STILL in the lot and talked the dealer down to 20 from 23k for it without much effort (im not buying that one, just messing with the dealer)Anyone know why are they so incredibly expensive now? I know Matrixs sell for around 20 - 23k so it doesn't make any sense whatsoever

Did you check the sticker price of the cars that you have seen at the daalerships because the dealer may just want to make their commision off of you.Inder

Wow! That's a lot of taxes. I know on mine, it was a sticker of 21k after everything. And I picked it up for 16k. Inder

My suspicion is low supply = high demand = high prices...They're few dealers that I know of on the island...and they know you won't go to the mainland for a car, because any savings would be wasted shipping it back...so they pretty much have you in their control. Just my speculation, of course.

Actually I don't think there's any demand for them, other dealer I went too had three 2003s still sitting there, and on the street I practically never see them, I do see tons of Matrixs all over the place, im going to try to get a 2003 down to 18k if I can that's going to be my choice, I like having something a bit different than what everyone else is using
