I have a cosmo CAI , does the filter have to be spray oiled like the K&N filter . I have ad it on My Vibe awd since last Sept. and I did not oiled it . I took it off today to clean it and it was not very dirty . There is a rel thin film in the intake opening on the main air intake opening but not alot.
I thought it did but the instructions that came with the CAI did not say to .No there are very few dirt or gravel roads left around here. I as always appreciate the quick responses I get , I am going to oil and reinstall it now . again thank you Sunny for the info.
One of the reasons they're cheaper. They should be oiled and don't come that way.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)

A K&N kit is $15.00 and is good for many, many uses. A Cosmo CAI is over $100.00 cheaper than most others, that buys a lot of cleaning kits.
