Hawaii hotel recommendations

Post by pmh013 »

Hubby & I won a trip to Honolulu. It's a travel voucher, worth $3000. We told the travel agent arranging everything the approximate time frame of when we want to go (January to March) and told her to give us some ideas ... without knowing what flights are going to cost, we can't really pick a hotel. So, here's the listing of hotels she gave us:Waikki Resort Hotel Aqua Bamboo Aqua Marina Aston Coconut PlazaReally, we'd like to spend as little money as possible (i.e., not have to rent a car for the week, not have to upgrade the hotel, etc.). Basically, we plan to sit on the beach and maybe a little sightseeing.I've checked all 4 hotels on Trip Advisor, and like all reviews you get on Trip Advisor, some people swear the hotel is a dump, others say it's OK. They're not resort hotels, I know that! Just wondering if anyone has stayed in any of these, and if they can tell me if they're good, bad or otherwise.
