"The largest ever GM year-end event also awards discounts of up to $10,000 towards the purchase of most new 2005 and 2004 GM vehicles. Launching tomorrow, it is the largest GM vehicle giveaway in Canadian history."Among the 150 vehicles to be won are a selection of luxury and high- performance vehicles such as the new Chevrolet Corvette, GMC Yukon Denali, Chevrolet SSR, Pontiac G6, Saturn Ion Redline, and Saab 9-3 convertible. For all vehicle winners, GM Canada pays freight, air conditioning excise tax (where applicable), dealer administration fees and applicable sales taxes. The GM Hot Button Event is open to eligible Canadian residents who have reached age of majority and possess a valid driver's licence. No purchase is necessary, and the entire process takes just minutes. Here's how it works: - Qualified participants visit any participating GM Retail location and push the blue OnStar button in a designated GM Hot Button vehicle. (OnStar is the innovative service offered on more than 50 GM vehicle models that provides drivers 24-hour assistance at the touch of a button.) - After pressing the blue OnStar button, an operator will take some basic information from the participant (to ensure that they meet the minimum eligibility and for contest administration purposes). - Once this information has been recorded, the call is transferred to a random prize response that announces exactly what the participant has won. Every participant may receive a grand prize - one of 150 hot new 2005 GM models - or a prize consisting of a time-limited credit off the purchase or lease of a new GM model or receive a minimum award.Other GM Hot Button prizes include 6,000 substantial time-limited awards ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 off the purchase or lease of new eligible 2005 and remaining 2004 models. At a minimum, all eligible participants will be awarded either $1,000 or $500 off the purchase or lease of most 2005 and 2004 Chevrolet, Cadillac, Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Saturn and Saab vehicles. The national event runs from November 19, 2004 to January 3, 2005 at participating Chevrolet, Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealers and Saturn-Saab retailers across Canada.
