How many miles did it have when you got rid of it? Driving the Vibe feels like the lap of luxury in comparison doesn't it?

First car was a 85 Mustang LX - drove it 5 months and wrapped around a telphone pole - TOP FIRST!They came and got me in a helicopter to get me to the big Hospital in Nashville, don't remember the ride though.

52 Ford F-1 Pick up. Drove it for 23 years, then sold it for five times what I originally paid for it. I can honestly say they don't make em like that any more...thank God!

I'd like to do a re-do on getting rid of it. It would be an awesome car to have now. But even more awesome would be my father's 1964 Pontiac GTO with 3 deuces, or his 1958 MGA, or his 1963 Corvair convertible, or his 1966 Olds Toronado, or his 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette. He's had some great cars over the years.

1969 Pontiac Beaumont cost $100.00, drove it for 5 years. My next car was a 1969 Thunderbird 4 door 429 Thunderjet, cost FREE from my girlfriends mother. I had it up to 135 mph on old bias ply snow tires, it was a near death experience!

1974 Audi Fox a.k.a. "Lemon"They started building it on a Friday and finished on a Monday, during Oktoberfest!Attachment shows a (very large image of a) 1973 Audi Fox advertising brochure found in a Google image search on the net. The 1974's had larger sturdier aluminum alloy bumpers to meet stricter federal bumper regulations.Mine was a brand new maroon 2-door 4-speed 4-cylinder 1479 2-barrel carbureted cubic centimeters of pure German muscle. It had a black leatherette interior and a manual crank sunroof. Got an 8-track AM/FM radio installed right away. Got about 30 mpg on the highway. It was my 'college car' for Junior and Senior years and 4 more years after that. Very important college-student factoid: Two kegs fit in the trunk! Eventually traded it in with about 63,000 miles for a new 1980 'Westmoreland' US-built VW Rabbit.2012 UPDATE: I looked at the photo attachment again, and realized it was actually a 1973 Audi Fox brochure. Years later (mid 1980's), VW re-imported a 2-door 'Fox' built in Mexico. Same body shell, though the VW version also came as a 2-door wagon.

My first was a 1980 Fairmont Station Wagon.... when it was 15 years old and had no rear fenders left! I followed that with a 91 Ford Probe, an 88 Fiero Formula, a 97 Ford Probe, and finally a 2002 Wrangler. I still have both the Wrangler and Fiero!

My first car was a 1960 Mercury Comet, then a 1964 Comet Caliente, '66 Comet Caliente (a lemon), another '66 Caliente, '67 Pontiac Firebird 400 convert (probably my favorite car of all time), '79 Pontiac Sunfire, '87 Chevy S-10 pickup, '97 Grand Prix GTP and this 2003 Vibe.

Different classes of vehicles, hard to compare. Probab;y no winter troubles with the wrangler . You still bneed to get yourself a Vibe though

Yep, I went with the Wrangler. It may have swung the other way if I could have gotten the 180 HP motor and AWD in the Vibe, but of course it cannot be had that way.There are definately advantages to the Wrangler, but there are certain disadvantages too. Having a convertable is awesome in the summer, and having the ground clearance and 4wd is very nice in the snow. But it also uses a lot of gas, is not very good on icy pavement, and is loud on the highway. All compromises I anticipated, and I would not sell it for any one of them. When I am ready for a replacement, I will certainly like to consider the Vibe again. Hopefully at some point before then they can beef up the AWD to offer it with the high output motor! I also find the Solstice a very tempting car to buy! At least its back in the Pontiac family!

The car i drove when i got my license was a 78 chevy caprice classic. That was the hand-me-down from the parents. The first that was actually mine was a 66 chevy stepside. The last truck my grandfather ever bought and i was his youngest grandchild. That one meant something.

1966 Mustang: my dad bought it as a total loss salvage in 1974 for my brother. After he was done with it, it went from my oldest sister, to my next oldest sister and then to my mom. My dad finally fixed all the damage before he gave it to me so even though just about everyone in my family used it, it only looked cool for me

My first car was a 1964 Chevy Impala, 4 door, 283 V8, Auto, Dual Headers and Mag Wheels. That car was a freaking boat. I swear it seemed like it was 30 feet long. I fit 6 people in my trunk one time!

My first car was a 1986 Chevy Monte Carlo SS with T-tops. Boy did I love that car,but I had to sell it to my brother, because I did not have enough room at my apartment for 3 cars. I also at the time had a 1987 Buick Grand National and a 1986 Chevy Cavalier. I still have the GN and my Vibe GT.

I think it would be fun to hear what everyone's first cars were and stuff and talk about it. My 2003 VibeGT is currently my first car. Got it a little over a year ago and think that is perfect for a highschooler like myself I have way too many friends who their first car has been either, fast as #$@%, or expensive as %$#@. lol. And it kinda annoys me when parents do that kinda stuff. Though if I'm good friends with them then I don't mind it too much cuz I will get to ride in it and sometimes drive it too. lol
