Glad to hear you got your Vibe wee. Maybe we will see you cruising the streets of cowtown..Did you order special equipment ie: reason for long wait. Waiting since April seems like BS or many unforseen circumstances. The dealer we bought from in Calgary had 10 (5 AWD, 2 GT and 3 base)on the lot. they wanted to deal so we actually got ours discounted. This was at end of November. The cars had been on lot since late September early October. They still have 4 AWD (Abyss, Frosty, neptune, lava) 2 GT (Lava, Abyss) and 3 base (Lava, Abyss and neptune) on lot last time I checked. (2 days ago).If anyone else in Calgary is looking for a Vibe let me know and I can refer you to our sales person. maybe you can get similar discount.
Five days to go and counting! Unfortunately, my Vibe will arrive while I'm out of town for holidays. It is scheduled to arrive on December 27th after originally ordering the car on July 15th. That would make it 5 months and 12 days! My dealership made arrangements to finalize all the paperwork before I leave. I even was able to take advantage of the "Ring in and Win" promotion before the car has even arrived and got the $1000 off. By the way, the minimum $1000 off ends at noon on January 2nd. So if any of you are close to getting your vehicle make sure you get in on the promotion before the curtain falls.I got the following extras:Mudguards, Floormats front and rear (vinyl), 20% tint on the rear windows, cargo netting, cargo mat, bumper protector and I got the 3M 8" nose protector. I originally wanted the bra but apparently the dealership said GM has discontinued it. It got it all for $24618 Cdn.Now for the tough part. I'm going to be thinking about the Vibe all throughout my holidays. I'm not due back until January 2nd.Happy holidays everyone! Thanks for all your invaluable information over the last six months. Hats off to N Simkins.

Good news Lesterb, I'm still fighting with my dealer to get the same arrangements and finalize paperwork before the Win/call expires. My Vibe in now on her way for the dealer (left NUMMI dec 10th) but with all those days off (holidays) she could be late for the promo (by only few days) so I asked the dealer to do about the same as yours but it looks impossible for her!!! What's your dealer's name in Calgary? I could refer this example to get what I want, may be.

When my Vibe left on Dec. 2nd I got the VIN# almost immediately. I hate to incriminate the dealership who made this arrangement, since they are decent folks. I would get the VIN# and talk to the manager/owner. Good luck!

I understand lesterb (don't want to incriminate delaer). My dealer said, even if the already have VIN, they can't do anything unless the car is on their parking lot ready to deliver... It's really different from one dealer to another... mine doesn't work for me, yet! Will keep trying anyway and let you know, tks.

Wow! Just bought my Vibe today from a local dealer here in Detroit and found this forum. Ray Laethem Pontiac has just under 100 Vibes currently in stock for immediate delivery. Jim Causley Pontiac has over 50 in stock. Sorry to hear about those having to wait, but I can assure you it's worth it!

I have waited over 4 months to get my Vibe and the American dealers can have a lot of them. They really don't want to send more to us here up North. But, it doesn't matter. I have achieved what I wanted: I got my Vibe a month ago and it's now a pleasure to drive it each day.

There were 3 Vibes on Condie's lot in Kingston this past weekend. Lava and Satellite base models and one Abyss GT. The Satellite had disappeared yesterday though.

My Vibey has finally arrived! Alright! It has been 22 weeks and I now hope that it has been worth the wait. The car came off the truck today (December 31st). Dealer has told me I can pick it up on January 3rd 2003. I have a bunch of add ons to be installed and I'm 400 miles away from home enjoying the holidays anyway. I now have something else exciting to look forward to when we make it home. I will have pictures on my next post with some first impressions.Happy New Year everyone!

I called GM today for an update. My build date, like many other Canadians, was Dec. 30th. They told me today that the car has been built and is on the way to Windsor! I called the dealer and he knows nothing about it (or so he says). I was unable to get an exact build date or a estimated delivery date. Should I be able to get that information from anyone? Was anyone else (Canadian) able to get a build date or a delivery date after the car had been built and sent on its way? Thanks. Looks like the wait is almost over. Did I mention GM Canada sucks?
Ha Ha... maybe our cars were on the line together. When you get your VIN, let me know we can compare our build #s.I never bothered to ask my rep what the build date was. He told me that mine was shipped Dec 16 (for those of you not following the other thread, I also had a build date of Dec 30). The rule of thumb for delivery is 5 weeks. Now, that said my buddy at the dealership (Ottawa) said that they usually get cars in about 3 weeks, but considering the holidays and all the days off... I'd say that it will take a bit longer than a non holiday delivery. The last few weeks of waiting are the hardest!!!
I've got a question about the ordering of Vibes in Canada... what happens if you order your Vibe, but by the time it is ready to be built its the 2004 model year (which seems likely it will happen in Canada)? Your order was for the 2003... do you then get the 2004 model?

Well I just got back from my dealer. Did the ring in and win thing. Got the min $500. I also decided to take advantage of the 0%/48 promo. Final pre-tax price $22 300. If I ordered simial options today the price would be $ 24 005.Looks like my car was shipped the Dec 26 not the 16, so I'll be waiting a bit longer than I expected.
I was told my VIBE is in Windsor today. They are required to move it from the Windsor yard within 48 hours. It should be on the road to Mississauga by then. Should be delivered by the end of the week. 2fatty, which dealer did you get your VIBE from? If my VIBE isn't delivered by the end of this week, I want to be able to ring in & win anyway. The 0% financing is a must have as well. If they say no to me, can I tell them that you were allowed to do it and mention your dealer's name? Thanks.
How come our friends 2fatty and The Slave (this topic dec 14) and lesterb (this topic dec22) told us that they were allowed to be able to that Ring&Win promo and ours didn't??? My VIBE is also in Windsor, since jan 2nd, may be talking with yours VibeRater!!! Called 1-800GM and told me that she will be on her way up within ....2 weeks!!!! Just can't believe that. I'll miss the promo if they don't agree like our friends (above)

I picked up my Vibe last week Friday Jan.3/03 and she is sweet! A five and half month wait and it was worth it.Of course I now am working on the breakin period for the first 500 miles so I have been babying the car. So far so good. I'm really enjoying the handling but I need to check the tire pressures since I think the car is riding a little harsh when I hit bumps.I also noticed I have the Goodyear RSA M+S tires instead of the Continentals on previous Vibes. Also I don't have that annoying beeping when the car is in reverse, maybe it is the feature on the GTs, or GM is listening to this forum.I see what everyone means in terms of the auto headlights but it doesn't really bother me. Also the display works fine with my sunglasses maybe others are using a cheaper type of eyewear. When I picked up the car the mudflaps and vinyl floormats were on back order and they still need to be installed. I also went with the hood deflector eventhough I also have the 3M film. I'm also waiting for the deflector. It took a while to get used to the remote entry but I think I have that conquered now.More impressions later. So far I like my Vibe a lot.

congrats!Just one thing... I thought that you couldn't get a GM deflector. Anyone know the answer for sure?BTW, did you order the vibe mud flaps, or just standard dealer ones?
The Slave has a VIN #!!!Finally, after 6 months my Vibe has been built. Dealer says it shouldn't be more than 4-5 weeks for delivery (still more waiting). For those asking about 2fatty and I being able to take advantage of the promo, and our GM points: our dealer (including the owner himself) had to press the zone manager (all I know is that he is one of the highest placed people in GM Canada) to honour both of these due to the fact that we both would have to wait over 6 months for our Vibes (and the fact that we placed our orders in June before the announcement of the change to the points program). If you find yourself having to wait that long, then press your dealer to call the zone manager for the same deal.Good luck. [On target to get my Vibe after only 7 months of waiting .... ]

What d'ya think of this? The salesman calls me to tell me my VIBE has been delivered to the dealer (over 4 months wait). Great I say, so I'll get the Ring & Win Promo with 0% interest! Then he says there's been some price increases since we ordered, so we'll have to change the price. I reply, I don't think so. So he replies, well, you'll have to choose if you want 0% financing or no price increase. I'm not shi tin' ya. After making me wait over 4 months, he wants to jack up the price on me, or pass up the 0% interest promotion. I was stunned. I snapped on the guy. I'm going into the dealer first thing tomorrow morning to get this straightened out. Freaking unbelievable. Did I mention GM Canada sucks?
they are absolutely wrong! Once its in the computer you get the price of the car from the order date. When you sign your contract you get the current financing rates. If you order your car today, you won't get 0% finacing 2 months from now (unless they have another promo).Your dealership suck ***...
2fatty is wright. When I ordered my Vibe, my salesman told me the price of your Vibe and the interest rate are frozen at the one written on the order contract. Then, if the interest rate decrease, he is obligated to give you the sammlest one, at the same price as the one when ordered.Your dealer realy sucks.
One thing...I don't think my dealer said the interest rate was frozen when you ordered (I'll ask him next time). Mind you interest rate was pretty damn high in the summer when I ordered so I wasn't really worried.
My english is not as good as I want and can't tell exactly what I also think about your dealer... but I got a name for you to call: Mr.Marc Comeau - GM Canada Vice President sales-marketing-services in Oshawa (905)644-5000 He's THE CONTACT you must call now! The interest rate IS frozen if you lease. If you purchase, the interest rate is what applies at delivery. More details to follow. I just got back from spending 4 hours battling with the dealer. I'm tired and gotta go to work .Later.
When I ordered my Vibe, the very next day the price increased. The salesman called me and told me I was "locked in" at the original price. He also told me if the lease rates dropped by the time I took delivery I get the lower lease rate. If they went up, I stayed at the same rate.

This has been a terrible buying experience. Every inch of the way this salesman kept finding 'problems'. He's an older dude and when I went to settle up with the business manager, I asked her, "Is this the first car this guy has ever sold?" She had to laugh. Finally got him to agree to honour the original base price when it was ordered. Then when the business manager presented me with the invoice to sign, I noticed that the base price listed was the new price, about 500.00 more than what the vehicle was when ordered. Back to the drawing board. Had included the 1000.00 dollar recent grad bonus in the first deal and he asked for and recieved all the information (copy of diploma) at that time. I called him a couple of days later to see if everything was fine with that and he said it was approved. Suddenly today there was another transcript he needed to get the grad bonus approved. All of this could have been taken care of the past 4 months I've been waiting. Then he had a 'problem' with the ownership registration of my trade in. we had talked about this when the deal was originally done 4 months ago and decided then it wasn't a problem. He's had my original ownership slip in his file since then. Today, it suddenly became a problem again. He wanted me to change the name on the ownership before I trade it in (long story). Again, this is something that is unecessary, but I could have done this the past 4 months while I've been waiting. Then he had a 'problem' with the insurance. I haven't recieved the car yet but he needed confirmation of insurance immediately before the deal could be completed. He's been dragging his feet on getting the dealer prep done. He's told me Monday, but I know it won't be ready then. It was delivered to the dealer last Wednesday night. But hey, they let me look at the car today and it looks great! He's the saleman from hell, but that doesn't diminish the car's appeal. I'm tired. It's not supposed to be this difficult to buy a car.
