sub box opinion help

well design really depends on a lot of things. mostly cubic volume of the box and if it is correct for the sups you put in it. Also it needs to be made out of mdf and not particle board particle board will expload if you put good enough subs in it. cant hold the pressure. but other then those 2 things were really splitting hairs.

oh ok, heres the specs:Material is 3/4" medium density fiberboard. glued and nailedInterior volume is: 10 inch - 1 cu/ftso what do you think now? i am not looking for anything that big and powerful. 2 10's with enough power to add moderate bass.

Looks like it's fiberglass... But yes, I agree. As long as the internal cubic volume is matched close enough to what the sub requires, it should work fine. I'd get some sub-box stuffing for it, though, just to give it a little more "oomph". You can get it at crutchfield..

also, on a side note....if i get a deck with 2 preamp out puts, have 4 good speakers, and run 2 10's, whats the best amp choice? mono, mutli channel...etc. wattage? this is for my 73 bronco that has a soft top and will run with no top from time to time. i want enough power in the speakers and subs so it is clear with all the outside noise present. any speaker recomendations?

Something that'll take high power... i'd almost say maybe get some marine grade speakers...those things are designed to take the extra abuse. As for amps...I'd suggest a four channel for the cabin speakers, and a monoblock for the subs. Or, if you don't care about fading front/back, a two channel that can be bridged to two channels at 2 Ohms...that way you can run four speakers off it, and the subs off the monoblock...
