Fox Marketing Vibe SEMA Show 2004

Post by FoxMarketingVibe »

Just got back from SEMA Show and here are some pictures of the Vibe GT. This was in the feature vehicle area and was at the BASF/Madico/RECARO/Fox Marketing party at the Hard Rock Hotel on Thursday.

Well I can't let the cat out of the bag yet but I will post pics soon as I get them installed. I'm waiting to see which suspension set up I'm going with. I'm am going to see how far I can lower it on dubs. I may not have the patience to wait for show season. We will see.

Very much looking forward to seeing the results! I've thrown around the idea of making my Neptune 2-tone into a Neptune/Silver 2-tone for a long time. I probably wouldn't do it now, since I just had my cladding replaced, but still quite interested to see what it will look like!

I have a set of 20's that I was going to put on my Vibe. They were Boss 308's from a 2002 S-10 Xtreme that I used to have before I traded it in for my Vibe. They looked like they would fit, and I bought adapters to put them on, but fortunately I accidentally bought the wrong adapters. When we put them up to the empty wheel well to see how they would look, it was obvious that they would be WAY too wide with the adpaters or the offest was WAY off. But otherwise, they would have fit in the wheelwell just fine top to bottom and side to side. And that was with tires that were for the S-10 which were only somewhat low-pro (255/35/ZR20)! They'll fit fine as long as you use something this size or smaller. Can't speak on the rubbing of the inner wheel well or A-arms and such. That is a problem I had with my S-10, they rubbed when I tried to make a sharp or U-turn on the inside of the tire against the inner wheel well workings.

ColonelPanic, Did you replace your cladding with painted ones or had them painted?

what he means by cladding replaced, he is referring to the discoloration issue that GM put a TSB announcement out. the gray cladding on the 2 tones were getting discolored from rocks and debris. they replaced the damaged cladding with new and for 03 vibes, added the lower rocker panel that bows out on the bottom a little more to keep rocks from spraying up. this seemed to have resolved the issue for the most part.

my future plans are to fix the front end this spring and pay it off in the next 2 years. other than that, i'm really trying to save money and pay off bills. i have invested well over $5000 into this CAR and need to NOT spend any more on it unless I have to. Of course, i'll be upgrading the clutch and brakes when they go out.... my cousin is a mechanic and has all the tools (he says) and a big garage to help me install them. i'd love to get a body kit, wheels, exhaust, etc, but realisticly i'd rather put my money where it appreciates in value like save up for a house!

Hope to pay off my house in the next few years. Its hard customizing cars and paying a mortgage. Hope to get a few sponsors next year. Thats a good way to customize your vehicle and not come out of pocket. That is if you get a full sponsorship. But I feel ya, that house comes first.
