So what other wheels are in your family fleet? For us, The Wife's chariot is a low-mileage supercharged '97 Buick Park Avenue Ultra. I've just scrapped a 360,000 km (225,000 mi.) Pontiac Firefly (Chevrolet/Suzuki Sprint) bought new in Nov. '86, and a have a Rip Van Winkle Project (asleep for 23 years!) Camaro Z28 also bought new, in May 1970. It has a long and growing (hence the "sleeping" part) list of mods including Corvette ZF 6 speed, Dymag magnesium 17" x 10" wheels, Konis, home built headers with 4" (yes, four inch) diameter Flowmasters, glass hood and an ex-Can Am all-aluminum 495 c.i. fuel injected engine. (Each cylinder is larger than the entire mill in the Firefly, and perhaps not coincidentally, it gets about 1/8 the fuel economy...) Just think of my contribution to global warming reversal by driving the former rather than the latter all these years!

My back up vehicle is an 18 speed full suspension Jeep Mountain bike. It is a bit of a heavy pig but I love the full suspension, it has save my *** many times on bumpy downhills. Big fun It is methane powered so is very enviromentally friendly It got lots of use while I was impatiently waiting for the Vibe, and is now in cold storage. Many bikes are still on the road in the winter here, but my winter biking days are over....
Frosty 5 speed Vibe Power & Safety Packages. Naturally Aspirated my gallery
My wife drives a '97 Toyota Tercelhttp://ullberg.us/jellybean/
Car: Two-tone Base Abyss, Moons and tunes, Power packageMods: 20% tint, Reflective Black GrafxWerks Overlays, German Hella Horns, Hardwired Valentine One, red interior dome lights, custom cargo floormat, police scanner, ham radio, cellphone kit and a bunch of antennas on topWishlist: Rubber floormats, million dollars
My other ride is a black 2001 Chevy Cavalier Z-24. I let my dad drive this since he sold his truck a little early. I won't go back to it once it's "returned" to me... but I don't mind since I now have the Vibe.
My other vehicle is a paraglider. The ONLY other time I've seen a Vibe besides at a dealer was at the paragliding nationals. [Modified by vibe owner, 11:41 PM 12/8/2002][Modified by vibe owner, 11:43 PM 12/8/2002]

My husband drives a '92 Dodge Dakota and we have a spare '98 Cavalier, that we affectionately call the "Happy Meal", because it is so tiny. That was my car before Da Vibe. I'm 6 feet tall, the happy meal wasn't too "Happy". And I have a pair of Skechers 4-wheelers Roller skates that get me around pretty good to the mailbox and back . In the summer-our other transportation is a yamaha waverunner
Heather Proud vibe owner I'M DRIVING IT 'TIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF! IT HAS SURVIVED ABUSE FROM A DUCK......A COYOTE...AN ARMADILLO...A HUGE DEER (NONE OF THEM WERE PETS EITHER ) ...AND A DAUGHTER....WHAT A CAR! 106K AND STILL GOING STRONG!!!!
'02 Nissan Altima, '86.5 Nissan Pickup, '85 Honda 250 Scooter, two Razor push skooters, and a partridge in a pear tree. The partridge is a bear to ride though. KSNeptune
My other car is a 2002 Acura RSX 5 speed silver or my Trek full suspension mountain bike. Oh yeah I forgot I work at a Pontiac dealership so I guess I have about 20 Vibes, 30 Envoys, 35 Sierras, 20 Azteks, 18 Grand Ams, 15 Grand Prix.
Abyss Monotone GT, 6 speed, Moon & Tunes, Power Group, and 16" Alloys. Soon you can see my Vibe GT at Shadowrealm's car pics but for now it is under construction!
Now I drive a’02 Subaru WRX 5 speed Sedan….the regular posters know that by now. My wife drives a’02 Toyota Highlander V6 FWD. And as soon as we have sufficient snow coverage….a ’01 Ski-doo MXZ 800, WOO WHOO!
Wow! This is the fastest spool-up of a topic I've seen! Obviously struck a resonant chord! And talk about diversity: Corvettes, skates, bikes, classic T-birds, parasails, a whole "lot" of assorted Pontiacs and GMCs...Wonder what a Marketeer would make of it all? (Over to you, Timoteo...)
Interesting cross-section of rides. We also have a '96 GMC SLT extendacab shortbox. I love it but it loves the gas pumps. As well a "94 Olds 88 LSS. Great car but the seats aren't as good as the Vibe's and it was worth almost twice the price when new! Still have a hankering for a bike but have kept it subdued for many years. The fun of driving a Vibe rekindles the desire to ride for fun, though. Also pilot an old Doral 14' with a speedy Merc 20 outboard. Might as well introduce water as well as snow, eh?
Camthecanuck from the wilds of Northern Ontario, Canada. Proud and happy owner of a Shadow grey Vibe base model with alloys, power and safety and security packages with standard transmission.
Hey EDecker, your fire bird reminds me of that movie cannonball. No not cannonball run with reynalds, just cannonball with David Caradine, you know... Cain from Kung Fu. If you're a fan of the car Im sure you know which one Im talking about.
Yes, Mach ZED, good for lake racing but handles like a tractor in the corners…In Canada we say ZED for Z, not ZEE. ZEE sounds way too wimpy, ZED is more muscular. ZED 28 sounds than ZEE 28, or 350 ZED vs. 350 ZEE. Wimpy ZEE, I have to go for a PEE.
The wife has a 98 Ford Taurus. Since we work different hours, she usually steals my Vibe to go into work. She probably puts more miles on it than I do, since her work is more distant. Just as well probably... this way the mess from carting the kids around all goes in her car. heh heh.We also both drive (more often ride in) a 2000 PL Custom Ambulance with a Ford F-350 chassis and a 95 or 96 (can't remember which) Horton Ambulance with a Freightliner chassis.

1996 Hyundai Elantra Wagon. Bought it used with 30,000 miles 2 years ago and now have 90,000 and it is in great shape. Needed a second car and wanted a "wagon" 4 cylinder not an SUV. They don't make the elantra wagon anymore, so..............VIBE.......... I love it

quote:Without discreding your Hyundai, it think your Vibe is more reliable then the Elantra. Like I said, almost 60,000 miles in 2 years and still no problem, total mileage is 90,000 and still going strong. I am HAPPY that the elantra was discontinued becuase if they still made it, I would have got it!!!!.... because it would have been a lot cheaper and had the 100,000 mile warranty. In any event, they don't and it forced me to try something new that I am really satisfied with too.
