(removed) Remote starter and Cai

Post by shocker sf »

well I installed my Injen Cai over the weekend it was an easy install. As per the instrustions i started the car and let it idle for 10-15 min to adjust the Ecu. Well i started the car with the Remote car starter and when it started up for a few sec's the starter sounded like it was still engaged when the car was running then there was a whistle and the sound went away. After 15 min i shut the car off and restarted it with the remote and this time it dident make that noise. But i went out later that night and it did it again. When it does this the light on the dash wont light up untill the whistle sound comes and goes. Then the car is back to normal.(removed) is this problem? Could i have some vaccume lines mixed up. I mean i have no cel and the curse and every thing else is fine. i just cant figure it out.

What remote starter do you have? What light on the dash are you referring to?It's possible that after you installed the CAI, the start point of the car needs to be reprogrammed into the remote starter. When they're installed, they have to "learn" the tach so they can figure out when the car is actually started. Some models will sense this by the voltage change when the car is running. It depends on how the installer set it up..That'd be my only guess if it starts normally with the key.

As Jahntassa said, sounds like the RS keeps running the starter even after the engine kicks in...whenever the starter is cranking, the lights in the dash go out...Try reprogramming the RS...

I'll second Mike. Sounds exactly like it's overcranking.Should be an easy programming fix.
