Err...actually, it may be the biggest, but it's not 4-1/2", it's 80 mm or a little over 3-1/8". It looks great though, doesn't it? (Could use a higher grade of stainless steel however -I have to keep at it with the chrome polish...)

I don't think it is 4.5 inches stock, but it is large. I measured the tip on mine that has the polished stainless steel monster and that is 4 inches.Take a look: My Vibe's Exhaust Tip

Personally i like the vibes exhaust pipe, but im going to put a tip on it (not one of those lorge stupid mufflers that makies that vrooooom sound, like a rice rocket) but just a High polished chrome exhaust tip to give the tail pipe a little "flare".

Ok--NOW I have a question--Has Vibe changed their pipe because I have the standard smaller pipe ,but a friend of mine just picked up her Vibe 1 month ago and her pipe is larger and slightly flaired like yours. Anybody Know?????

Wow! That looks great, and it's a lot bigger than my car's! (delivered Dec 5, hot off the truck) Plus it looks chrome and appears to have a rolled over lip. Are you sure it came out of the factory that way and wasn't say, your dealer or trading dealer's re-work? It looks a lot like the TRD tip. I haven't seen a stock one like it. Is it welded on, all around? Anyone else have one? Maybe it's to address the rust issue as well as appearance.

I'm thinking the exhaust tip for the base/AWD is different than the exhaust tip of the GT. I just checked, and my Base stock exhaust tip is 3.125" diameter, no rolled edge. It looks far nicer than any stock tip on any other car I've ever owned, so I'm keeping it until it wears out.KSNeptune

A friend has a Matrix XRS, bought in Feb '02, and it had* the identical tip to my Dec. 05/02 base Vibe, so perhaps they recently changed the tip but only on the GT. *(We sawed off the rusty relic last weekend, and replaced it with the oval chrome tip from a 1970 SS 427 Chevelle. It looks great and blends nicely with the cutout in the Matrix ground effects. Now it's a square peg in a square hole!) Guess the bigger, better tip is another silver lining to the dark cloud of delayed delivery here in The Frozen North...

If you go to the Vibe's website, you can go to accessories and get an exhaust tip like mine from GM. It is high polished stainless steel and it has a collar on it that is tightened with a stainless steel bolt. It is really nice. I love it. I am not looking at changing my exhaust anytime soon, and I thought this would be a good way to set my Vibe apart from others on the road.
