I'm interested in buying a new Vibe and went to the dealer (Terra Nova Motors here in NL). I was told that the incentives for many GM products do not apply to the Vibe. The salesman said that the profit margin was so low on these vehicles that special offers would not be available. I would not be able to get the 0% financing or the discounts. Any of you recent Vibe owners in Ontario have the same experience, or is this dealership trying to rip me off. I would get a better deal on a Matrix if this is the case. I much prefer the looks of the Vibe over the Matrix, but may be forced to go with the Matrix. Appreciate any input. Thanks.
Welcome to Genvibe pinhead.Looking for incentives from GM, there are many according to GMCanada.com site. For 2004 Vibe only but wait until November for new promo "Ring&Win" and check for 2005 Vibe.http://www.gmcanada.com/englis....htmlBut looking for more info on your locality, with average price around, you can spend more money on your Vibe compared with prices, say in Toronto... http://www.aroundthebay.ca/pro...c.asp• Average price of a three-bedroom bungalow: $30,000 • Average rental cost of a house: $300 per month • Average rental cost of a two-bedroom apartment: $300 per month

Thanks SCTMI may just hold off for a while. I really like the Vibe's versatility and standard options, so I can wait to get the right deal. Living in a rural area, the AWD is very attractive. The dealer told me that I would have to order one three months ahead because very few are sent to "the rock". I'll wait till next summer if I have to!!Nice site showing my community! That's the road where I walk my greyhound every day. Take care.ps. Very informative site. Be nice to hear from others in Atlantic Canada as well.
Welcome to Genvibe, pinhead! How much you can negotiate off your vehicle will depend on what your dealer (or other local area dealers) have in stock. On top of that, there are Canada wide offers. I just checked the GM Canada website and the 0% financing is offered on the Vibe, but only on 36 month terms. The best place to check if an offer applies is to call 1-800-GMDRIVE. When I bought my '03 AWD, I went to two dealers and both had said that I couldn't combine a couple of the discounts together. I called the 1-800 number and it took them a day of digging, but they called me back and said it was okay. The bad thing with getting a factory order is that it takes so long that some of the promotions expire by the time your vehicle arrives. Best of luck!
Thanks for the info Roundup. I'll use it next time I go into the dealership. I have a friend who works at a GM dealership (not Pontiac though) and get her to keep a look out for upcoming promotions. thanks again.
Hello! Welcome to GenVibe! My dealer gave me $500 off because my family has purchased cars there before, so it was a returning customer bonus. Then, I got my Grad Rebate because I graduated from College in the last 4 years. Also, I used http://www.carcostcanada.com. Basically, you sign up (for about $30 CDN) and you get to select two vehicles, or two different Vibe models if you wish. You then can get a printout of the Dealer costs of the car itself, plus any or all options/accessories. They don't make as much on the Vibes, but they do make enough that you can get them down a bit. Before I got the cost of the car on the website, they were going to only give me that $500 bonus plus my Grad Rebate. I took the cost sheet into the salesman, and showed it to him. We calculated the total cost of my car to the dealer, and I got approx. an extra $1300 off the car, plus the $500 and my Grad Rebate. I'm tellin ya, that was the best $30 I ever spent! Check it out... They're a bit more willing to negotiate when you know what they're making. http://www.carcostcanada.com Hope that helps!
