Two-Tone Rockers and Black Flaps on Mono Salsa

Post by johnnyride »

Well I finally got it done. Sorry about the dirty car, but it's been rainy. I just got the two-tone rockers installed on my Salsa. I also put on the mud-flaps but had them painted black for better looks. Here are the photos, just follow it down the thread. I'm sure the car will look much better when I put the 17's on in the spring. I'll take more pics then.

and finally.. So what do you all think. I like it. My auto body guy says there is a new paint system from PPG for these types of plastics, which I believe are polyurethane based plastics. It came out great.

Looks great! It's nice to see somebody doing some original mods again.

that is awesome, i was gonna do that too. but i guess you did it first so now im not original .what was the part number. i think i got it ,it should be that 60 buck panels of the website the bodykit ones are 126 bucks do you have to take off the stock pieces right,or do they go over and did you have to sand down the two tone ones.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

Yes, you ahve to remove the old ones. I had a body guy do the work, but I do not believe he sanded them. He used a new PPG plastic paint system. I don't have the part numbers on hand but they were about $60 each from GMparts.com

Thanks for the pix. I thought you forgot about those of us waiting to see the results Personally, I envisioned a more aggressive looking result, but it looks really good. Now I know: to get the look I want, I need 18s and lowing springs in addition to the rocker/mud flap combo.Great job!Does anyone know if dropping the car with mud flaps works? or will the mud flaps scrap the ground too easy (i.e. driveways and speed bumps)?

Thanks. The 17's go on in the Spring. The flaps should be fine if you go down with springs. Just take it slow on the speed bumps. I just measured. I have 4" clearance front and 6" rear with stock springs. And I didn't forget you guys, it took that long for my body guy to get to me. Seems insurance claims are keeping him pretty busy! I wonder how long it will take him to paint my Fiero!?
