Got my Thule 751xt crossbars coming from ebay.$125 shipped off ebay.Better start looking fellow 2005 owners.Thule has discontinued them. And then you have will have to buy the 450 feet and the 50 inch crossbars. Much easier to get them in one piece by buying the 751s. They lock in place. Watch ebay, or make it a favorite. Then they notify you when they are put on auction. Only buy from people with a good reputatution (over 99% positive feedback). Make sure they come with keys for the locks. And Check how much shipping will be, before you buy. Woohoo, I will own crossbars. I feel like one of the boys. I already have a cargo bag. And the Thule rechargable light (ebay again) that snaps on the cargo bars so that you can see what you are doing. Now I need a hard box that does not interfere with opening the hatch. For when I need what is up there locked. Any suggestions. Does not need to be that large. Needs a lock. And to be able to opened from the side of the car. And to fit on Thule 751xt racks. Thanks.

The US prices sure aren't.this could be because of the weak US dollar. right now the canadian exchange rate is $1US=$1.25CAD. this is the lowest i can ever remember it. in 2003, it was about $1US=$1.5CAD (it even got as high as $1US=$1.62CAD during one of my ski trips across the border).so using the prices in canadian dollars stated earlier by SCTM...in 2003: $20,975CAD/1.5=$13,983US (at 1.62 it would be 12,947US!)now: $19,900CAD/1.25=$15,920USso, GM is making more even though it doesn't look like it to canadian consumers. but, if the exchange rate starts to go back up, that's when they'll make out. $15,920 is right about in line with the US price.
The stock rack may not be he best I've had but I've used it a few times and it's far from useless. I think Pontiac needs to understand that it's one of the things that sets it apart from the Matrix.

Toyota has their own antifreeze. It's red, like Transmission fluid. Contains no silicon or silicates. That what is going in mine when I flush it in about 30 days.Quote, originally posted by joatmon »There's a lot of bad thing s said about dexcool here on genvibe. If they are true, then it would probably be a good idea to replace that with a different type coolant soon.

While I agree that Dex-cool is not the best coolant available, I dont believe its the cause of Lower Intake Gasket Failure on the GM 3.1 and 3.4 motor. After much searching on the Web, I found quite a few things including a TSB indicating that it was a manufacturing and design flaw in the gasket itself. Added to the fact that the factory was given the wrong tourqe specs for the lower intake, they were being over tourqed, thus blowing the gaskets out. Just before Christmas we had the Lower intake gasket raplaced in our 2000 Pontiac Montana with 47,000 miles. Cost us $100.00 plus $17.00 for an oil change due to the fact GM knows about the problem.
