Looks like I could use a new headlight for the passenger's side, unfortunately. The lens is cracked where something struck it, and now water seems to be getting into the light. I should probably go ahead and replace the thing. But, that leaves me in a confused state... Should I just buy one headlight, which will leave one light that's sandblasted and hazy on the inside... Or, since I like the look of the '05 lights, should I just buy a new pair of those? Or, should I just say forget about it, and leave it as-is? Sounds like a good option, but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to do it. The '03-'04 style are $187.05 each at gmpartsdirect. GM list is $311.75, so that's quite a savings... Not sure how much the 2005's lights will be, I wouldn't think the price would be that much different. Now, does anyone know the part number for the '05 lights, and will they fit an '03? I'm almost certain they will, months ago when I was comparing an '04 vs '05 side-by-side on the lot, I didn't see any difference between the two. Even the numbers stamped into the lenses matched on both cars, only difference was the appearance. But I'd like to know for sure, so I don't end up screwing myself out of a ton of cash...Regardless of which type I end up with, I would like to have some sort of cover for the lights to keep them from getting wrecked again... I know a few of you guys have blackouts on yours, how much were they and where did ya get 'em? And how do they mount? I'm considering something like blackouts, only the clear version. Not too sure how those would look, but I need something to keep the lights from being sandblasted like the ones I have now.. Or, would it be better to slap some of that clear film to the new lights? Thanks for any input you guys may have...

I didn't think about filing a claim with the insurance... I've got a $100 deductable for comprehensive. Hate to claim it though, wouldn't that make my insurance go up? Haven't had to file a claim of any sort for several years now (knock on wood.)

they will fit, the only issue you will run into is that the 03-04 headlight on the inside is chromed (mirror) were as the 05 is black... or its the other way around lol... either way the structure is the same but the light assembly inside is not.yeah I believe its the other way around... chromed on the 05.

You could always call your agent and ask if it would affect you rate.

Yep, I kinda like the chromed look of the '05 lights a bit better than the chrome/black like I have now...I wonder if I did file a claim with insurance, if they would let me put the light I want in (if it costs the same) and I'll buy the other...

I'd go with the clear film protection. It will stop the sandblasting and make the lens stronger if you sustain a direct hit. Weathertech makes them and there is a guy on ebay selling them.
i tryed to look at some pics on the net and i can't find any close up of the 05 lights, and the nearest dealer is well not very near, so does anyone have a good pic of these 05, i have an 03 so i already know what they look likethanks
Haven't checked yet... and oops, accidentally erased my other post when I went back to edit it. Since the comprehensive on the insurance probably won't cover it, I may just buy the one light from gm parts direct... Still leaves me with one sandblasted to hell and all hazy though. Decisions, decisions.
