Is there any aftermarket solution that will enable hooking an iPod up direct to the factory 1 CD w/Moon & Tunes, 6 speaker, with factory XM, and still be able to use the factory XM???I know an FM modulator would work, but would hate to sacrifice sound quality. This would be on a 2005 model.
You -might- be able to use the PIE X3 adapter. It works with the 03/04 Nav system because the Nav has the changer. I don't know any specifics about how things are connected in the '05's though..http://www.xmfanstore.com/showproduct.php?id=piex3I have the X3GM12 with my nav system. Plugs in behind the radio between the radio and the changer cable.

Try looking at PAC-Audio's AAI-GM12 adapter. Supposedly, it works with with a slave system (like XM), and has a switch that allows you to select between XM and an AUX input (iPod).http://www.pac-audio.com/products/aai.htm

Natron, this may be what you are looking for.. it's the same product i used to add my iPod mini to my 2005 Vibehttp://www.discountcarstereo.c...D=446PIE claims that it works with the factory xm or factory changer installed.Good luck.
Thanks! I was debating at weather to go Factory XM or External XM, but seeing as how I don't have a Vibe yet, and I want to get XM before then, I've pretty much decided to go with external XM using a SkyFi radio.
