Well, I decided to follow drunkenvibe's lead and go with just replacing the stock muffler with a Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler. I got a quote from local shop for $160 installed. I will let you know how much of a difference I feel. I replaced the stock air filter with a K&N Filtercharger ($58+tax)drop-in replacement filter. My next mod is a Unichip. I am leasing my vehicle so I want it to look as stock as possible but also be able to get as much power as I can out of it.
Well, I had the Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler installed today and I also installed the K&N Filtercharger. After installing I had to take a test drive and I must say there is quite a difference. Before the acceleration was pretty lame and now I can fell the vehicle pulling when it accelerates. Definitely worth the minimal investment. I would recommend it to Vibe owners who want a little extra kick but don't want to spend a lot of money to get it.Later,Brian

Here is on if the new muffler with the Chrome Exhaust tip. The new muffler has a nice deep mellow sound to it. You can also see the underbody rust protection.
They're alright, but aftermarket plugs will still improve performance. If you wanted to upgrade the electrical system even further, look at some of the fine products offered by MSD Ignitions.
The stock plugs are NGK Iridium plugs. There is not much better out there. If there is something better the difference will be so minimal that you will not notice a difference. I should know, I have found better and there is no noticeable difference.Brian

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was almost sure the owners manuel says stock plugs are Denso Iridium. No a huge difference just about $10 a plug more I know there is a better Iridium's to put in.. but any thing other than that is usless.
Nice to see another AWDr that got some extra juice. Did you jut put the 2004 parts in the 2005, crossing your fingers? I can't find 2005 stuff anywhere yet.
The air filter is the same, the plugs are the same, and the muffler is a universal fit and is quite a bit smaller than stock so the fit was no problem.Brian

Had two DynoMax mufflers on my fist car 1987 Cavalier RS. I loved the mellow sound they produced, no fart can. Good quality too! Stick with the stock plugs, you will not feel a difference in performance in changing them out.

AFAIK, apart from the logo they are the same plug. (Which isn't to say they couldn't be priced very differently...)BTW, Denso iridium plugs are now factory installed in many GM products.
