04 Monotone Front Splashguard Mixup

Post by jhugh »

I know this has been discussed elsewhere but I wanted to repost just so others don't make the same mistake I did. After repeated calls to dealers I was reassured that the part # listed in the Accessory catalog for the '04 would work in all cases...WRONG! If you have an '04 with the Monotone package DO NOT order the front splashguards listed in the Accessory catalog for that year - the molding on the Monotone models tucks under where the '04 2-tone was redesigned to flare out.Unfortunately the catalog only lists 1 part # and it's for the redesigned 2-Tone style, as I found out.So, once again here are the correct numbers:'04 Monotone Front Splashguards: 12498056 (same p/n used for earlier model years)'04 2-Tone Front Splashguards: 12499855The dealers don't know about this and may sell you the wrong part.

Well a lot of people have been waiting for the two tone cladding molded flaps because its been noted before there is a difference in the lower body styles. I didn't realise the same part number was for both?

I installed the front splash guards on my MY03. It was easy. Don't need to remove the front wheels. I had the garage which puts my snow tires on install the rear splash guards as you need to remove the rear wheels to install the splash guards. Since they had the wheels off to exchange them for snow tires and wheels, it was just easier to have them install the rear splash guards.
