From what I understand, our Vibes already have the ACDelco platinum plugs in them from the factory. GM has had those on all their gas engines since 1996.

Iridium actually which are even better. I changed the plugs in my GMC truck with over 100,000KM (62,000 miles) and the plugs were perfect and the gaps were bang on spec. Remember this is a Toyota engine and may have different plugs though.

The toyota spec is for 192,000 km for first spark plug change under good conditions.

I went and put in Denso Iridium IK20 in my Vibe GT. I can say that I did not noticed any change in mileage, I'm not someone who really watches my mpg, but I did notice that the car seemed to be alittle more torguey than with the stock plugs. I would recommend this to any GT owner. I got them at Autozone for around $14.00 a piece.

I take all factory specs and half them, that is when I change things. Changed my Vettes at 53K when I bought it (100K plugs). Found two boots with tears and the plug tips were worn, not bad but still worn and I would expect that. I always over maintain my vehicles. IMO use the plujgs that are supposed to be in the engine. If you get some special HP plug you will not feel a difference and in fact may cause issues with the engine. Whatever the Vibe runs, stay with it. A friend of mine ran NGKs in his Rabbit and his mechanic told him to get those out of there and put the Bosch back in.
