Okay, first of all I've had tons of problems with my rear windshield wiper. The day I took delivery, I decided I would give the rear windshield wiper a go (I'd never had one before) so I turned the knob and it went and the wiper basically rotated from rest position and came to a stop in a "Six o'clock" position, pointing straight down. I didn't even notice until about an hour later when I realized I had been driving a car with its tail stuck between its legs. ANYWAY, my question is this..my rear windshield wiper fluid comes out pretty weakly. There's no jet or anything like on the front...it just kind of trickles out of the brake light area. Also, when I hit the washer for the rear the rear wiper doesn't go, I have to move the knob to an actual ON position before it will wipe after the fluid comes out. (VS. the wipers going automatically on the front when the fluid comes out). Anyone else have this problem? Is this even a problem?

I agree, the design for the rear sprayer is weak.If you look at the rear wiper/washer control, you will see there are 2 wash positions: on at the top and one at the bottom: - Wash - ON - INT - OFF - WashThe lower wash is to wet the rear window before the wiper starts because running a dry wiper blade across a dry window wears the wiper blade out quicker. What you are supposed to do is twist it down to wet the window and then twist it up to turn it on. If you don't want to do that, just twist it all the way up to the top wash. This will turn the wiper on first. The upper wash position is so you can spray water while the wiper is already on.The complete instructions can be found on pages 2-37 and 2-38 of the Owners Manual. Here's an online version since you didn't get one from the dealer:http://www.mygmlink.com/pdf/go2content/ ... fquote:the wiper basically rotated from rest position and came to a stop in a "Six o'clock" position, pointing straight down.Six o'clock position?Straight down?It was on the hatch door instead of the glass? This would be problem. How could you see it if it was straight down?

Has anyone else had this problem or was I just one of the lucky ones?

More like a stream than a spray. It's just that it sprays onto the area of the rear window where the 3rd brake light is. It sprays there and then trickles down the rest of the window. Have someone operate it while you stand outside and you'll see what I mean. It's not a very good design. It should spray out to the sides much more.quote:yes STRAIGHT DOWN...i think something with the stop locator got screwed up and yes, it was pointing straight down covering the hatch and license plate, etc....Ouch. I've never seen that done on a Vibe. I thought you were driving and looked in the mirror to see it straight down. That's why I wondered how you could see it. Like I said, that is a real problem. Take it back to the dealer to fix. That is not correct.
Sounds like the wiper motor assembly may be loose inside the hatch or the wiper arm is loose. Either way, you need to give the dealer a chance to fix it. They should be tripping over themselves to make it right. Your bumper to bumper warranty is just that, bumper to bumper. I don't think the wiper hangs out over the bumper (well, maybe it does now ).
If you turn your wiper control all the way up to its highest position on the stick it will spray ( drip ) with the wiper going as well. I didn't figure this out for almost a week. I thought you had to push itdown where the water would come out then turn it upwards to get the wiper to work. I guess I'm just a dummy. Pushing the lever all the way up works so much better. If your wipe assembly is out of place the dealer will fix or replace it for you under your warranty.
