tranny swap

Post by 03autovibe »

i know there are already a bunch of threads on going auto to manual but this is different. does anyone know if you can use the gt 6-speed on the 1zz engine? i know it is probably a stupid/rediculous waste of time and money but i have a curious mind.

I don't see why not. It should bolt right up unless there are little mods to the car.Inder

I'm thinking the gearing would be totally wrong for the 1zz though. You'd probably lose more power then gain.

I don't know if it would fit. Both 1ZZ and 2ZZ are the same 1.8L displacement, but I don't know if they use the same block. Probably do.I'm not sure any benefit would be worth the cost of the swap though. In http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...age=2, MadBill answered my question about replacing the 5 speed with a 6 speed, I'm not sure what the gearing differences are between the auto and the 6 speed.
