Hey everyone...I just got news that my Vibe arrived on the lot last Sat. When the dealer called to confirm it was my car...he told me that the car had moons and tunes...which I did not order...and NO power package!!!! I am so pissed!!!! I have no power locks and windows...this is my first brand new car so there is no way I'm taking it without power. So I was told that it was a mistake and they are sorry but the only other option is to reorder. Great so now I have to wait another 2-3 months!!! Grrrrr... Hopefully no one else has had this trouble...I'll keep you posted on how well the dealer takes care of me in this situation.
You mean you factory ordered a Vibe, configured to your liking, and they built your car with the wrong options?Man....that seriously sucks! Especially after waiting for an order to be preferenced and built! I'd bypass the dealer and contact GM directly on this one. If the car was assembled improperly, then it's not really the dealer's fault...but if they input the order wrong, then it is. Either way, this is a huge error. Someone here ought to be able to give you some phone numbers for GM or Pontiac customer service. I used to have one myself but no longer remember it.

The factory didn't mess up the order...the guy I talked with at the dealership that typed up my order to be given to the manager messed up and put the wrong options on my order. I don't know how because he should have had my buyer's sheet right in front of him that had all the options I wanted but somehow he screwed it up! The guy that did it even fessed up to it. I got some numbers for GMC so I can call them and turn in the dealership for crappy customer service. I just can't believe they wouldn't think it was strange that I would have wanted the top of the line vibe with no power anything!!! I would have double checked or something!
Before you waste your time calling Pontiac or GM and accomplishing nothing but irritating the dealer, are they willing to work with you to correct their mistake? With the current rebate/rate program, you are in a better position then when you ordered. If you reorder, the rebate/rate program may end (9/3). Have the dealer do a search for a Shadow Monotone GT with Power w/o Moon & Tunes. If one is found (Syracuse), suggest they truck it in as their penalty for their error. You may have to negotiate any option differences. If you are both past working with each other, ask for a print out for the search results and make calls yourself. Good Luck.
I went to the dealer today and we ran a search for 350 miles for a car similar to the one I wanted. No monotone shadow GT's were found except for some in the Rochester area but they all had navagation in them. The dealer found a few non monotone and tried to talk me into getting those but I wouldn't budge...I really want the monotone. I tried to tell them I would work with them on options like if they found one with 17's or moons and tunes that if they could drop the price I would pay a little extra but they said they couldn't do that. I also tried to get them to guarantee that I would get the cash back and rebate deal since I would have gotten it if they hadn't messed up the order but they also said they couldn't do that. My dad works for GM so I get the GM discount...I think that's why they don't want to work with me...I already have gotten almost 3 grand off the base price.
Tink, well GM employee pricing kind of changes things. Check out GM Buypower.Performance in Syracuse $22,290 Montone, all 5 dealer accessories, 17", Power, Security, 6-DiscDavidson in Watertown $21,890 Side Bags, all 5 dealer accessories, Moon&Tunes, Power, 16" Alloy, SecurityMeadowland in Carmel $21,675 Side Bags, Nets & Mat, Moon&tunes, Power, 16" Alloy, SecurityColumbia in Hanover, MA 02339 $21,660 Monotone, nets-box-bumper, moon&Tunes, Power, 16" AlloyColumbia in Hanover, MA 02339 $21,835 Monotone, box-bumper, 17", Power, 6-DiscShadow paint is the closet to the trim color, look at some of the pictures here on the site to make sure Monotone is the one must have. Price is not an issue because of the employee pricing, it is just if the other dealers will sell to you. If you surf through the GM Web site to the emploee purchase sections that the public can see, I think it says the dealer can not sell the car to you for other then the preset employee pricing. Again, good luck.
Sounds like the dealer didn't want to do a too thorough search (do they get less commisipn on an employee purchase perhaps?). Here in Syracuse I went to one dealer tried for a whole hour and said sorry can't find one in our network (translation-didn't want to find one because of the GM Powerbuy discount-even said well you know these are a hot car so we can sell them for sticker ). Then went to a second dealer who took 3 days of scouring but found exactly the one I wanted Sattelite 2 tone (I think the 2 tone makes it look more sporty and didn't feel like paying $500 to get it all one color) and with the power package as that is all I needed. Well-they found one and with the discount plus the rebate I will be getting it for just under invoice. Any chance you can try another dealer?
