Remote Car starter

Post by shocker sf »

Whos got one and have you had any problems with them. I had one in my last car and it was great during the winter and summer time. I want to get one put on my vibe but ive been told it can mess up the electrical system? I know some ppl that have had one on their different cars for years. My old car dident have a problem but i know all cars are different !!

The only thing that you have to do is buy a spare key that is not programmed. That way the car will not mess up.Inder

I installed a Viper 790xv on mine, and helped Mike install a Rattler 369D on his. There're no surprises or hidden issues with the Vibe at all. No problems since install, either. If you need help doing it yourself, let me know. Otherwise, I would try going to a Circuit City/ Best Buy for install. Little shops doing remote starts tend to leave a mess in their wake for anyone going in behind them.

As Jahntassa said, I've been running a Rattler 369D for almost a year now trouble free...and I LOVE IT!If installed properly, you WILL NOT have problems.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

I've had remote starters in both the Grand Prix and Vibe since shortly after I bought them. Never a problem. They are super-great in the winter, I'll tell you that.

i had a crimestoper remote starter on my Eclipse it worked great but the guys that did the install dident do it very clean. My mom was going to get me one from my vibe. She just bought an 05 vibe and is having one installed by the dealership. Its getting cooler here in Up state ny and sence i have to park out side ( im a nice guy and let my wife park her 03 tiburon in the guarage) i want to get one. Ya think if i have some place like tweeters or Bust Buy do the install it would be clean and trouble free??

Tweeters are easy. TRD, check ebay. I just bought a refurb Viper 790 (the one on my GT) for $150 shipped. If you can get your hands on one, I can give you pretty detailed instructions. And, as said, the Vibe doesn't require a spare key for remote start.
