My 2003 Vibe GT With 17" tires is cupping on the inside. I noticed the cupping when I had the tire rotated and balanced. I had Sears check the alignment and they told me is was right where it need to be. I took it to my local dealer and they told me i wasnt properly rotating the tires. I am a person who takes pride in my cars and perform the proper maintenance. Has anyone else had the same problem? The car has 26000 and there telling me I need new tires. Mark
My Conti's cupped really early on. Diagnosis: failure to rotate at exactly every 10,000 km (6000 miles). I think I went 15,000 km before I first rotated them, and they were screwed.I suffered through them until they were completely bald, then bought Pirelli's.

My ancient 275/40 Firestone Firehawks have been on the same corners of my Vibe for over 30,000 km (~19,000 mi) and still look fine, but then they've kind of toughened with age...
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)
You seem to have a double-posting issue.Yes, the Pirelli's (and rotations every other oil change) have solved the problem. The OEM tires just plain suck.

My '03 GT also has badly cupped 17" Dunlops, with a similar rotation schedule, proper air pressures. For what it is worth, I noticed a Mitsu Eclipse with the same Dunlops - they were cupping too.
My '03 GT with the 17" Dunlops was also badly cupping. I noticed it at around 20,000 miles, it was making a loud vibration when coming from high speeds to low speeds and they howled. I took it in and they thought it was a front wheel bearing first, but that didn't fix it. That was when my service tech said they were "cupping on the outside and feathering on the inside."

I have a new AWD vibeless than 6000 miles Had only one oil change so far and noticed my fronts are cupping on the outside. I run between 30-35 pressure all the way around. I know the sticker says 35 front and 32 rear. I should be fine there.I do have the INfamous Conti's
