i was hoping after my springs settled the drop would be more even. but the rear of the car is still lower than the front by close to half an inch.the springs were supposed to be 2 inches all the wa around. i didnt measure beforehand so i dont know if it was like that stock. but how is others drop.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!
Not to ask stupid questions -- but mine the front is a hair lower than the rear...Did you get the springs reversed? 2 of them are extra strong to accomodate the weight of the engine and all...could you have put them in back accidentally?
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
no the fronts are larger in diameter.its almost impossible to mix them up.and despite that they were labeled.i may have about 80 pounds of extra stuff in my trunk, but still it was like that when the trunk was cleared on install day.... i may take out the spare and see what that does.

the springs are RATED for an even drop.with my extra stuff out the trunk the back is still a little lower.with the spare and that plastic things out its about even.but i would have though the spring manufacturer(progress) would have at least accounted for the weight of spare and plastic stuff.i measured from fender to top of RIM.is that how you measured, what are you measurements.

I'm actually at stock height. But, from what I have noticed, Tein has the most even drop out of any other suspension company. Like, for my brothers' 1998 Nissan Sentra, they make a kit for a 2.5 front (front) and 1.6 drop (rear). I know someone else who has Progress on his WRX. His front is higher than the back even after the drop. The car, from the start higher in the front and lower in the back.inder

i guess thats how mine is, the rears look tucked a bit.and the fronts dont.

My Tein S-Tech's seem to be an even drop, but if I add any additional weight solely in the rear (cargo, etc.) then it does 'appear' to be lower than the front (all depending on how much weight I add). I have not, however, measured this to confirm. With no extra cargo, besides my bazooka tube, spare tire, and a few accessories back there, my Vibe still appears to be an even drop. When I had the Eibach Pro-Kit springs installed, I was able to load the back up with more cargo without noticing the rear drop, but those springs were only a 1.5" drop all around.I'm thinking, with any brand springs that drop over 2", that you will possibly get this effect. I'm not sure if coilovers do this since you essentially get a new spring and shock made for each other rather than the stock shock and aftermarket spring.
Teins site shows 2.28" front drop and 2.13" rear drop. Very close to even. Here is the Tech spec page for Tein S-tech, H-tech and super street dampers. http://tein.com/ti/l06.html
usually i just come here and read up on what new things you guys found out...i'm wonderng what vibe do you have? the 4wd? if so and your using 2wd springs the rear will drop by 1/2 an inch or more... b/c the rear requires more of an spring rate than the 2wd version...
I put the eibach pro kit in my 2005 AWD. Now the lower line of the car sits level, but the wheel gap is greater in the front than the rear. It leveled out the car, but the rear drop was bigger.

well yea when i had the tein s-tech on my 4wd the numbers for the 2wd with teins was about 2.3 front and 2.1 back... well after i got the whole thing settle what i got was 2.35 front with a 2.8 rear big numbers and my rear tires were tucked in... main problem was that the 4wd rear is more compatiable with the 00+celicas than the 2wd matrix...image with tein s-techs now i got tein SS coilovers that i modded from a 00+ celica... and going to do more work on the rear soon...-pat
The rear on stock springs was quite a bit higher than the front. I've had Sportlines in for almost 2 months now and the rear is only about 0.5" higher than the front.
I measured last night and where I stand with the Tein S-Tech's on my 2WD Vibe is the rear is about 1/4" higher than the front, so the rear isn't lower than the front. I've had my Teins installed for about 4 months now.satur9, just a thought, might want to check your tire pressures to make sure they are even. Worth a shot.
Quote, originally posted by TRD4reel »What kind of springs did you get? I know the Tein S-tech's are a even drop. JMHO My Tein springs actually have a 1.8 drop on the front and 2.2 on the back... its designed for better handling in a brake dive, appearance wise seems about even but the rear is lower. And yes as pointed out its very imposible to get the springs in the wrong places, they are different in size and appearance front and back, the rears are smaller then the fronts. Also I have had mine on since the middle of aug of this year.
