I was talking with some of my brothers (we are ages 52, 43 & 35). When growing up, our only choice was briefs as underwear - I say this only because that is what my mother bought. Growing up, we never strayed from that. Now, when we continued this conversation with my nephews, it seems that the preference with this younger generation (25, 23, 21, 20) is for boxers. So, is this a generation thing? What is the preferred style?(Women, feel free to give your opinion on what you like better, but I realize that you really don't have as much of a style choice as guys)
what are you talking about? we have so many choices, it's insane! do you want high cut briefs or low french style? full back or bikini? and then you have thongs.... g-string style or the traditional thicker band? sheesh! too many choices! lol
growing up, i wore briefs, like you said, that is what my mother bought. then, in jr high, it was kind of emberassing to change and have your whity tities expossed to the world, so i started with briefs and boxers, then fully converted to only boxers. much more cumfy! let the big guy breathe!

All commando, all the time. I got out of wearing it when I went through training......getting in and out of the water all the time made anything ride where it wasn't supposed to, plus you get massive chafing. And chafing+sand+salt water= really bad day.

Just because you see Charlie doesn't mean I am a he....sometimes Charlie can be a she!!!!

I wore briefs as a young kid, then boxers, and about 2 years ago, I switched to boxerbriefs, it really is the best of both worlds. It isn't easy to explain, but those who wear boxerbriefs know what I mean.

mmmm Boxer briefs, nothing like haven the Kibbles and Bits all supported and kept cozy in a soft cotton hammock. Nd then there are those night when you have to go out to the club and ditch the undies for that comando feeling. It's just a sexy feeling.

I'm with Drunken...Briefs til middle school, then boxers when changing for gym was required. The first time I switch was when I went to a high schooler's grad party with girls. I didn't wanna be wearing briefs incase something exciting happened (removed). I dunno what I thought was gonna happen since I was only like 11 or 12
i have never worn briefs or boxers. well, maybe boxers but that was to wear bed as sleepwear or for gym shorts (allows you more air ). us ladies get very different options for undergarments! we have thongs, bikinis, high cut briefs (i think that's what they call them), sting bikinis (ouch), boy cut shorts (these are very strange to me), and many other "new" cuts or styles. i myself prefer the low cut bikini (so it doesn't ride up over the top of my pants and look stupid) or thong (depending on what pants i wear so you don't see a goofy panty line). so my question is do guys have to put as much thought into what underwear they will choose based on their clothing too?
For me, not really. I wear boxer-briefs as a general rule, unless I am wearing shorts that are not very long, then I wear briefs, just so the boxer-briefs are not hanging out the bottom. There are a couple of you who have preferred to "go commando". Isn't this a little uncomfortable in jeans? I mean, slim could get caught on the zipper.
LOL, just when you think you've seen it all on GenVibe! For me it was briefs as a kid, now I'm all boxers. Never tried boxerbriefs. Maybe some day if I feel like something different, who knows. Why am I even answering this? lol.

Guys should NEVER wear shorts that are so short that boxerbriefs would hang out the bottom!!! Oh yucky!!!

I'm a bikini kind of girl, too. I own some thongs, but just for dress pants and stuff that really need it, because I don't think they're comfortable enough for everyday wear. I'm with the ouch on the string *anything*...heh. I like boycut shorts on a bathing suit, but not as underwear.
NOT on large people.... ha ha ha! my best friend and i shared a hotel room in vegas a few years back. i used to only wear thongs so i'd drop my pants and yell, "i'm mooning you! but not!" i think after about the 3rd time, she threw something (perhaps a shoe) and hit me in the head! LOL

It just feels good to be liberated and free and unconstricted.

There is nothing crazy about liberating the Kibbles and Bits. as stated earlier it is just a nice feeling. And I too have never niped my Hoo Hoo Dilly on the zipper. DO NOT WANT TO RE-ENACT THAT SCENE FROM "THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT MARRY"!!!
