Good luck! Let us know how it turns out and if you had any problems being that the car is a little older now and that it may have been more difficult to get them off? I'm curious, How does it look under the badges? Is there a noticable difference in shine or paint fade?
Well, I took mine off once at 500 miles, there was jus normal paint, no fade or anything. But the seceond time, when I took em off (poor car got rear ended like no other last winter) there was a little bit of fade, but not really.Inder Singh

LOL!!! That would be baaaaaaaaad! I've read a few of his encounters with law enforcment. Any updates yet? I'm really curious since I have a Abyss color to. I've been thinking about it but a little hesitant to do it.
I think that it would good on ur car Ponyota. I told Paul to do this forever. He was, like, yeah, yeah. Honestly, the best way to take off the badging off of a car is to use a hair dryer and a whole roll of floss (trust me, you're gonna need it)Inder Singh

HAHA...silly cops. They are attracted to me like a magnet, I wouldn't be surprised if I got a ticket for debadging the car. If not I'd be willing to bet the cop would get REAL p*ssed that he didn't know the make of the car So far I only had enough time to get the rear pontiac emblem off, my friend called me and wanted to go to get food and look at car show. It came off fairly easy. Just five minutes or so with hte hair dryer, and then take dental floss and slide it along the back kinda pulling up a little to pry it off. I used wax floss so it didn't work for sh*t, but eventually after 50 million pieces of floss it came off with the help of my fingers. There was a little bit of glue stuck on the paint, but I just got a cotton car cloth and got it damp, then blew on the glue with the hair dryer and rubbed it off...you can't even tell anything was there and there isn't any fading. Looks great Tomorrow after school I'll get the rest of them off, and post pictures soon...maybe I'll make you all wait until I get the front over lay
Ok, that badges are off and there are no fade marks or glue spots left whatso ever. I heated hte left over glue on the car with the blowdryer and then rubbed it off with my thumbs...it worked but I have GIANT watery blisters on both thumbs now So words of advice, don't use your thumbs to scrub. On my left thumb ALL the skin just peeled right off about a half inch up to my nail (removed)!!! As I said, I rarely do a car mod without some kind of problem. Gues it's the price I have to pay.ANYWAYS sorry for the vulgar discription. I washed, waxed, and cleaned the WHOLE car in like 2 and a half hours so it is all ready and prepped for pics Looks awsome.
quick question....what's the attraction to 'de-badging'? I don't understand, what's so bad about having a pontiac symbol and the cool font 'vibe' on your car?just a question....
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
JMHO. I like the clean look. Nothing written on the car or anything. I hate all the writing on my car. So, I actually got rid of my badges the first month I had my car. Then, once again, 5 months later. The reason for the second time was because my car got hit and after it was repaired, they slapped the badging back on there.Inder Singh

Hey Merzbow,Thanks for the war stories. In prep for a Calgary meet tomorrow (actually, since it's 4am, tonight) I'm going to debadge in the afternoon. I think I'll wear gloves - the manicure, you know... Atomb, I agree with TRD4reel - it's all about clean and sleek.
Yes, clean look. Besides, I have the giant cool font "VIBE" on my windshield anyways I would recomend getting real dental floss, not that cheap wax b/s
i guess to each his own....when i picture a 'de-badged' vibe all i can think about are those annoying old civics around here that have been de-badged, lowered and painted with flat paint and a roller!

The problems there would be:a) they're annoying old civicsb) they're lowered (ridiculously)c) and they're painted with flat paint and a roller. It's got nothing to do with the fact that they're debadged - there are several beautiful Vibes on this site that are examples of how good it can look - devlop for one.

Im still on the fence one way or the other. I kind of like the Vibe GT badge but then I still would like to see the pirctures of it without. I'll either do away with them or use some overlays. I have to agree with Keely to. But then who really looks at old civics anyway? I know I don't and when I see one it really dont remind me of a Vibe

yeah. my brother actually gave me the idea. but if any vibe owner knows the obvious difference in a race, then yeah. 1) at take off, GT would b a lil quicker2) LIFT, u can hear it with an intake.Inder
