Garmin GPS unique install

Post by cspmeinkc »

This was an easy install. Any Garmin 3, 3plus, or 5 will fit perfectly!I just took the door out and drilled holes in the rear so the 2 wires can be routed. One wire is for the power, the other is for the external antenna. You can get a "bnc" type external antenna at gilsson.com for around 20 bucks. You can have a navigation system in your car for less than 300 bucks! Another great part is the door will shut when not in use.

Isn't it hard to see it while your driving?

the screen is lit bright. I can if i want to, pull the unit out (with wires still attached) and put it on my dash to see as well.If i input way points, it beeps at me to tell me when to look at it for instructions on were to go. It usually takes only a quick glance. If anyone has any other ideas were to mount it out of sight, please tell me. I thought about mounting it on the silver trim part around the radio, but then i would have to move it every time i left the car.........
