Hey everybody;I've got a VIBE on order, and have been waiting paiently for about 2 months now for my new baby to come in.. anyways, I ordered the DVD Navigational system as an option on my AWD VIBE and was curious if anyone knew if that system plays regular DVD's as well? Is it possible to pop in a DVD and have the movie play as well as using the DVD NAV system?I really really hope so... anyone help?
They didn't have a clue as they never seen the system, and when I ordered the VIBE it was right after they released it.. they only had one in the show room and that one didn't have the nav screen... Their guess was as good as mine... they couldn't answer... Im curious as to why it doesen't play them though? Oh well I guess its time for after market toys...
YES, the DVD can play movie !! Here in Canada, a TV show organised a rally for 10 days in the Vibe (a kind of survivor) ... and as a gift for winning a step, they can listen a movie !! (excuse my english...i'm french... not stupid)

This may clear things up....I took a look at the DVD Nav system in the new cadilac. The pictures look very similar to the one in the vibe and the details sound the sam too. Here they are below:The available onboard DVD-based Navigation system* uses GPS (global positioning satellite) to pinpoint your vehicle's location. Bright, clear graphics are conveniently displayed for you on the instrument panel, which takes the place of the regular sound-system control panel. Controls for the sound system are integrated into the 6.5-inch diagonal touch screen. A premium Bose® six-disc CD changer is required. The user-friendly touch screen features a light-gray background in daylight that automatically switches to a black background at night for optimum readability. Five dedicated controls along the left side of the screen control the Navigation system. Four switches to the right of the screen operate the sound system in conjunction with screen-displayed controls. Additionally, the system allows you to view a DVD movie while you are in the parked positon. Here is the website: http://www.cadillac.com/cadillacjsp/mod ... ation.html I hope this is the same!
I'm a likely future Vibe owner; will have to buy my first car if a job comes through. The Matrix is ugly! Aztek ugly! I'm deciding between the Vibe and the Saturn Vue and leaning toward the Vibe because of better mileage.I saw a review of the Vibe (I think in Car and Driver) where it said the DVD Nav system was something like "far from intuitive." Any reactions from real users or thoughts on how it may compare with other systems? Or any of you enthusiasts know of a site w/ more info on in-vehicle nav systems to compare? Thx.Also, does installing aftermarket GPS units void the warranty? How does that work? Thanks so much.

Another DVD Question: On the Cadillac site mentioned, it implies that the DVD Nav system is an upgrade to the six-CD Bose changer. Is that also true on the Vibe? Is the DVD player a superset of the six-CD changer? I assume it can play at least one CD like any DVD player. Thx.

The Nav system comes with a remote 6-disc CD changer located under the front passenger seat. It's loaded from the floorwell of the back seat and take up foot space.
