BAD Continental Tires

Post by bcell0311 »

1. Be forewarned...if you buy a Vibe with Contis...you will be disgusted with the performance...of the tires and the car.2. Is there anything that can be done about this. I've tried the dealer...they said I didn't rotate them. I had them rotated at a local shop every 6-8k....just like my other cars. I've never had this problem. Has anyone gone directly to Conti to discuss.3. I've only got 20k on these rat *******s and they're nearly shot!

When I was waiting for delivery of my '04 Vibe I was praying that I would get GY's instead of Conti's, but I got the latter. So far, they look good, I just had my first rotation, and the guy at the dealer told me that I have to rotate them every 2nd oil change, so they don't wear out. I asked why there was an '03 Vibe in there getting new rubber, and he told me that Vibe tires are made of really soft, sticky performance rubber. But I worked at a garage for 3 years, we sold Michelin, and the way it worked was, the more you spent on tires, the longer they'd last... doesn't make sense to me why Contis are supposed to be so good (according to the dealer) but they wear out in a year!

Well, I did it in under 11k and 7 months of driving. I had them rotated as per instructions. I think it's just that I'm not used to driving this small of a car, nor one this his off the ground. Going from a GP to a Vibe has shown me that Wider is Better.
