I volunteered to work today. It was kind of cool because the city was like a ghost town. No traffic anywhere. Besides with the crappy, rainy summer we had, I couldn't afford yet another day off.

I was working today too... My department is only closed two days out of the year - thanksgiving and xmas. Other than that, it's business as usual, 24x7.I definitely don't mind working on the holidays... Nobody is out on the road, and when I get to work none of the corporate goofballs are in the office since 99% are off on the holidays. Makes for a nice, peaceful day. Oh yeah, and the extra pay is a bonus too.
