I had an idea...

When I was looking at my locks on the door panels the other day, I noticed that the little orange stickers on them that show the doors are unlocked have faded quite a bit...How about some sort of nifty vinyl to go over top of those in the color of your choice? I know, kinda frivolous. Not sure how many of these things someone could sell if they made 'em, but I'd be first in line. What are your thoughts? Yes? No? Why bother?

It wouldn't take much...you could really just go buy a scrap piece of vinyl from a lettering place and cut it out yourself to fit. Cool idea though. Hmmmmmm.

Heck I think I have some spare red vinyl sitting around, I may have to give that a shot sometime.

I think I'll give it a shot... Gonna try to find some bright reflective metallic blue material like I have for the various grafxwerks thingies on my car... Or maybe, will try some silver to match the door panel trim... We'll see! I'll start looking around and see where I can dig some of this stuff up.

I've had this idea on the back burner for a while, but after getting my vent overlays, I decided to look into it again. I thought I'd throw this back out there and see if anyone else would be interested in something like this. I think in particular, a nice reflective overlay would look great with the chrome door handles like the Matrix has! And with the right color, should look good with our black door handles as well... I've sent the idea off to Grafxwerks... We'll see if they're interested. If not, I still have plenty of reflective blue vinyl from the 2-tone vent overlay project, so maybe I can try to cut them out myself. But, I don't know how well that would turn out, I'm no good at any of this stuff. I need to do something, the orange stickers on mine are looking pretty crappy and faded!

I still think it's a cool idea. I'd probably get some. I need to get some for the outside of the car too...I just never think about it when I have the extra cash....Post #1400

Now that's a most eccellent idea! It will light up the window controls at night, since Toyota was too cheap to do such a thing. I like it!

If you wanna get REALLY fancy, find a way to make it an LED that lights up when unlocked...
