Stock Stereo part numbers

Post by vibeInCanada »

Hello all...I have a 2004 Canadian Vibe.Does anyone with a factory installed XM Radio know the actual part number for their radio? Also, is it the single CD or 6 CD unit?My part number is 12231689 and it is the single CD unit with the 200 Watt amplified system. Thanks

You're going to have several obsticals getting XM factory-wired into your car.1) You need a US address to activate your XM radio2) You'd need to find the radio itself, which will be hard, because dealers cannot order the radio unless they're exchanging it for a defective one. XM is factory installed, and the factory option cannot be added afterwards, to my knowledge.3) XM units need to be specifically programmed to the car. I'm not sure how this works in the Vibe, since the car doesn't have a Class II Databus system.I believe you can only get XM with the single-CD option, not the 6.This is only my knowledge, though. I don't know if things have changed recently which makes any of it untrue.
