OK, so i'm trying to put together a great CD for my friends wedding. yet another that i'm in. this is the wedding summer i guess. but i'm trying to think of those great songs for weddings. ya ya ya... i know shania's "from this moment" and lonestar "amazed", but that's way over done imo. so help me out on some ideas, i want to try and be a little more original.so far:-brian mcknight: back at one-savage garden: truly, madly, deeply and i knew i loved you before i met you song-edwin mccain: could not ask for more-celine dion: because you loved me, power of love, colour of my love, and well... just about any of her songs practically. NOT the titanic song!-madonna: like a virgin ( just kidding, but funny!), cherish-barry white: my first, my last, my everything-donna lewis: i love you always forever-faith hill: breathe, ? i know she's gotta have a few others-KC and Jo Jo: all my lifeok, now i'm spent! anything else that would be good? even some fun ones too! preferably NOT country. and NIN "closer" will also NOT be appropriate.oh and i should add that it's sept 17, only 10 days AFTER i get back from my toronto/niagara trip that i leave for this thurs.
We all have different tastes in music, but my sister and her husband made a CD for everybody who came to thier wedding to say thank you. It is really good. Has songs on it that are special to them or that they just like, some of them are a little different.Jeff Buckley - New Year's PrayerDepeche Mode - Dream OnEverything But The Girl - Before TodayMassive Attack - ProtectionLamb - HeavenCake - Never Gonna Give You UpBig Head Todd & The Mosters - It's AlrightMacy Gray - I TryDave Matthews Band - CrushPortishead - NumbRoy Dunlap Group - On The Horizon (great jazz song )A few techno songs on there too...Moby - Run OnBrainbug - Nightmare (sinister strings)Basement Jaxx - Rendez-VuMost of these songs are slower, Trip hop type stuff. Not sure what exactly you are looking for, but these songs are pretty cool.
My wife and I chose the song by Garth Brooks named "Feel my Love". And no... he's not talking about his 'junk'. The only place we were able to find it is on the soundtrack to the movie "Hope Floats".It's a very moving song.

My g/f and I like Daniel Beddingfield's "If You're Not the One". It's so touching that I still cry sometimes when I hear it.There's also the classic Peter, Paul, and Mary song "There is Love (the Wedding Song)". I really like that one too.

Chris Kirkpatrick - "I Will"It's written by Richard Marx, and is on one of his compilation CDs. I'd say very few people have heard it, so if you're looking for super original, this is the way to go. Beautiful song.

Funny, one of my suggestions is "I Will", the McCartney/Lennon tune as performed by Allison Krauss. Hope, don't knock all country songs...there's a couple of great ones we hear at weddings... and one of them is especially dear to me as it was the song my wife and I had our first dance to... "I Love the Way You Love Me", performed by John Michael Montgomery.List coming up...
Here's a real blast from the past:From the Beginning by Emerson, Lake & Palmer."... you see it's all clear, you were meant to be here, from the beginning..."

How about "When You Say Nothing At All" by Alison Krauss? It's not a twangy country song...she has a beautiful, songbird-like voice, and this song is great. Originally by Keith Whitley, but Alison's version is wonderful. The lyrics are so sweet too. It's amazing how you can speak right to my heartWithout saying a word, you can light up the darkTry as I may I could never explainWhat I hear when you don't say a thingThe smile on your face lets me know that you need meThere's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave meThe touch of your hand says you'll catch me whenever I fallYou say it best.. When you say nothing at allAll day long I can hear people talking outloudBut when you hold me near, you drown out the crowdOld Mr. Webster could never defineWhat's being said between your heart and mineThe smile on your face lets me know that you need meThere's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave meThe touch of your hand says you'll catch me whenever I fallYou say it best.. When you say nothing at allThe smile on your face lets me know that you need meThere's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave meThe touch of your hand says you'll catch me whenever I fallYou say it best.. When you say nothing at all...The smile on your face lets me know that you need meThere's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave meThe touch of your hand says you'll catch me whenever I fallYou say it best.. When you say nothing at all...

LOLand i've been told Frank Sinatra's "the best is yet to come" is also a good one
