Keep in mind the 03 was the first model year. There were bound to be a lot of bugs to be worked out. It's been noted several times the majority of 03 complaints were addressed by the 04 model year.Honestly, considering I got mine relatively early in the 03 life cycle, I'm very satisfied with the lack of problems! 90% of my problems were my fault (from messing around with removing the dash and all). Only issues I've had were the battery, which was replaced under warranty, the A/C thing, which was adjusted under warranty. There are 2 rattles I haven't gotten rid of yet, but if that's as bad as things get, I'm very happy!

From what I have noticed, the Vibe has had some rattling issues. Too bad I hate the dealership next to my house. They suck. So, yeah.Inder Singh

But you guys in MI have what we have here in Canada just about... Instead of a Tim Hortons on every corner like here, you have a GM dealership on every corner there. Must be some dealerships around that you don't hate? But yeah 03 being the first model year was the whole reason behind me waiting for the 04 release. Though I wish sometimes my cluster was red like the 03 because that was one of the things that sold me on the Vibe.

For a first year effort, I will admit the Vibe has done me well. Yes, it's been in the shop a bit - and usually for stupid little problems. But I've seen far worse on a car that was on its second model year after introduction.

i've had very very little probs w/ my 03 gt. have some concerns over the clutch, but i figure when it comes time to replace, it'll be w/ a TRD performance clutch. my cousin's a mechanic so he'll help me install it.

I have really only had two problems and they were somewhat related. Front end was out of allignment (dealer did not correct it on their first try) and the Conti tires that were gone by 13k miles. '04

Let's just say that I will never do the following again:1. Buy the first model year of a new car, even if it does boast Toyota engineering.2. Buy a GM product, for fear of having to deal with them for warranty. Unless I'm buying a 1982 Chevette ... then I'm probably safe.

In '82 I bought the first model year of the front drive Olds Cutlass Ciera, with a Mitsubishi V6 diesel to boot. It was in the shop no less than 15 times in the first year, but they finally figured out how to fix every problem. That car turned out to be one of the best cars I have ever owned. It had great power and torque, and still got 36 mpg. The only problem with engine was the GM fuel injection pump o-rings, and eventually they even fixed that. There were two people that rode in it and went right down and bought one of their own. It had more than 350k miles on it when I sold it to a freind, who put another 100k on it. Turned out to be a great car!
