Red blinking light on single CD radio?

The single CD AM/FM unit that came with my tune's package has a small red LED light that blinks when the car is turned off.Someone tell me why, please? Does the radio actually have some sort of theft protection, or is it just pretending?KSNeptune

Thanks, NSimkins.As other have also said, it sure would have been nice to have read about it in the owner's manual or at least from my salesman. Then again, it never snows in H_ll, either, does it?KSNeptune.
