Do lowering springs affect the warranty?

Post by johnnyride »

Hey guys, I'm thinking about putting lowering springs on my new Vibe..not too radical, just the Eiback pro-line kit. Will that affect my new car warranty? Any one have any issues with that? Thanks, John

Why wouldn't changing your suspension void the warranty? Just curious? Inder Singh

Correct.Your warranty would be void on any parts affected by the install: strutsspringsas well as any parts "downstream" of those, if it's determined damage was caused by the install. For example, if you tear a brake line while installing them, and it's obvious it happened because of something botched during the install, then that would also be void.It could also affect things such as axle problems, and even if some sort of alignment problem develops, then all those would be unwarranted.

Thanks...maybe I should not bother for now, esp with an AWD. You never know if something happened with the AWD, they'd blame the springs. You guys are a great help!

If any serious problems arise you could always put the stock springs back on before bringing it in to the dealer.
