True, but I'm just curious about the A/M rotor and it's effects.

I think the con would be the possibility of ripping up the throttle, or the throttle cable when you try to floor it. This basically just provides less travel on the gas pedal before you hit wide-open.I guess it could be useful on racing, but I'm not sure if my fears would be justified or not.

If you are going for looks, it might look good. But if you are looking to have a more respnsive throttle simply adjust the throttle cable where it mounts just above the rotor.

*BUMP*I've got the rotor at home now, and I'm just waiting to hear from some of the more knowledgeable folks around here regarding the pro's and con's of this simple - and tempting - mod.

Logic tells me that overextending the stock throttle cable is a bad thing. Is the likely to happen? Could this mod affect the valve springs as well?

Well...try watching the throttle when you open it all the way, then mount the new piece..it might not overextend, just change the curve of how much power is given in the push of the gas...

Per my note on a related thread, to speed up the overall throttle opening the 'rotor' must shorten the pedal travel*. Therefore either the pedal must be closer to the floor on idle, or the throttle will reach full open with the pedal not yet on the floor, thus risking a broken cable or bent throttle shaft. *(unless it is actually much slower once the throttle is partly open)

i think it has enough slack not to break .when i put in my nitrous system.pedal to the floor still wasnt wide open throttle. the throttle blade had a bit more travel before it was truly wot.
