good luck to you! hopefully next summer i'll be able to move out too! just working on saving up a lot of money so it won't be such a financial burden. 2 room apts here are about $900+, security deposit, and if i can find a place that will allow me to bring my 2 little pups.... a pet deposit. oh ya, and furniture would be good to have too! lol
Good luck in the new place. I have lived in my share of apartments. Mostly alone, but I have had a few roommates. I just moved in with a friend of mine last month to try and save some money to pay off my car faster. Good job living in the dorms, I think all students should be required to live in the dorms at least for one year. It helps build character. I have seen stuff in there that I never thought was possible. Good times.

Our apartment that we had before our condo had a no pet rule when we signed the lease (we have two cats), but the superintenant said at the time we signed, that they can't enforce it by law. So thats nice. Apparently its different with condos though - if its in the condo rule that no pets are allowed, the no pets are allowed. We had our lawyer check that before we waived all the conditions on our condo purchase.

most condos and townhomes here allow small pets on approval. but they are a little more money but are a bit nicer. and i'd like to find something w/ a garage or carport, but we might have to put that on hold so we're not spending a ton of money to rent. would much rather make do w/ something and save up to buy our own place then to end up renting forever. besides, in the US we get a nice tax break on interest!

At my last apartment, when I moved out I was charged for dumb things like "dust on blinds" even though I cleaned them.
