Last Sun. I traded in my Vibe for a Mazda 3- 5 door. I finally got my 5 speed and plenty of power. I think that if my Vibe had been a 5 speed or a GT I would have kept it. At least I got my Centerlines back from the dealer. Check out the F/S forum. I will check in to see how everyone is doing. Very nice people on this forum. Like family!
Wow. Looks just like the one I was trying to buy. The dealer had tinted the windows on this one though. What color interior did you get?Sorry to see another Vibe go, but I'm glad you're enjoying your new car and sounds like there's no ill will toward the Vibe. Hope to see you around here once in a while.
No ill towards my Vibe. It was a great car,but with an auto tranny it didn't have the go that I wanted. I realized that cars can be compromises. The Interior of the Vibe(material Quality) is better than the Mazda. But the drive train is a Corolla- bullit proof but simple. I think that Mazda built an expencive sophisticated platform for the 3 but had to compromise elsewhere to keep costs down. After driving the new 03 Frosty Vibe GT and then driving the 3 it was an easy choise. Buy a brand new 03 Mazda for the same cost as that Vibe that had been sitting on the lot for 2 yrs. 17900. for a 3 with moonroof and cd changer. They start at 17600 with air and power windows and doors. The 5 door comes as a S model with 17" wheels and other things that on the sedan costs extra. I am so bad! 600 mi. on the car and I have already replaced the stock muffler with a Magnaflow and a different tip. So bad!

I was looking at the sedan also but I liked the way the 5 door drove better. Plus it is more distinctive looking. Too many sedans look the same. It's hard to give up that cargo space!
Nice!there is a fusion coloured one in town here that turns my head. But I will never trade the Vibe... only way I'd get another car would be if I could keep both.

looks nice. i like the styling of the 3, but i'd have to stay w/ my gt if given the choice b/w the 2. now, if it were b/w my gt and a 6s, then.... that'd be much harder choice. LOLcongrats on your new purchase though! hope you are happy w/ it for a long time.
Congrats on the new car. They do look nice, but I wouldn't trade in my GT for one either. It is good to hear that there wasn't anything wrong with your Vibe.

A lot more power than an auto. You can buy springs, aem intakes, Magnaflow is almost ready for sale. Lots of people on the forum. I think that I will be the old guy there.

The 5 door should be a little heavier, but not really noticably different. Do the 2 versions come equipped with different suspensions?

When I bought my Vibe I was driving a Toyota pu with a clutch all day out in the field. I was tired of it. Now I have a Ranger with an auto. Much better for working on a farm.
for trucks i'd say an auto is definitely the best. had an auto in my tundra and don't think i'd want a manual tranny. but for cars.... manual all the way!
I can attest to that. Manuals in most trucks aren't very user friendly and constantly remind you that you're driving a truck. The auto trannies in most trucks today tend to be a bit overbuilt for better durability and will last as long as they are properly cared for and aren't overworked.
