Moonroof Sunshade Bad Rattle - Help from anyone?

HI...My moonroof sunshade rattles really bad. It does not rattle when fully closed, but when open all the way or partially it rattles. It does this when the moonroof glass is open or closed. Has anyone out there had this problem and had it fixed? I have not taken it to the dealer yet - but am guessing they won't be able to fix it. Thanks to anyone who can help! Jeff

I noitced mine does too lately. Have not done anything about it yet though.

It may not be properly seated in the tracks.If it is, and it rattles, and they can verify it rattles, and your car is under warranty, it may just get replaced.

I have a sunshade rattle myself and was told the shade was redesigned sometime during the late 2003 or early 2004 model. I still have yet to go to the dealer to have it replaced, but I was told they should be able to diagnose and replace your cover with a new design that will eliminate the rattle.At first mine started as yours did, occasionally and under certain circumstances, but now it's all the time.What model year Vibe do you have?

I have a 2004 vibe awd. I noticed my sunroof rattling a month or two after I got the car. I took it to my dealer to have it looked at. The repair slip I got said the technicians aligned the sunroof in the track. The repair was under warranty and so far it has fixed the rattle. good luck with your sunroof.-Hunter-

Mine has been intermittently rattling ever since the shade tension was adjusted due to the thing closing on its own when I stopped. Actually, it's more of a 'snap' than it is a rattle, I would say. I don't know what happened, but on the ride home today, it rattled the entire time. Ratles *slightly* less when closed, but still is pretty loud. I have no idea why it would come and go before, yet suddenly become a constant annoyance.What makes it worse is that I've been selected to drive up to Ohio on business tomorrow. So, an 8 hour drive round trip with that thing right over my head making a racket... Ugh.Yet another trip to the dealer... It never ends with my Vibe! *sigh*
