Rear Window Wiper Insert

Post by redbeagle »

Does anyone know the correct part number for the Toyota Rubber Wiper Insert for the rear window. The Matrix and Vibe inserts are the same, I have confirmed that. The local Toyota Dealer supplied me Part No 85214-12310 on my invoice, this is the incorrect part number. The rubber insert is too long; they told me to cut it down ! Ya right !Wrong, I would rather buy the correct part. Does anyone know the correct part number ? Thank you for your assistance. Redbeagle

You can get it from brandsport.com for about $12 shipped (+$4.50 handling for orders under $25.). Shipping is more outside the lower 48.http://www.brandsport.com/toy-85242-12090.html

Ragingfish,It looks to me like the part number you supplied is the same as the part number on my invoice, 85214-12310, cost $2.35I would bet someone put the incorrect part in the bin, therefore I am being handed the incorrect part. I will attempt to get the correct part again. Persistence will pay off !All of the wiper inserts are a piece of cake to replace.Thank you for your assistance. Regards, Redbeagle

Always clean all my wipers with alcohol or wiper solution and a rag. Removes all the dirt/grime and wipers do not skip. Wipers last for years doing that. Obviously if they are torn then they need to be replaced.Clean your new insert and it will last a long time...

ToolGuy, I contacted the local Toyota Dealer yesterday. Just as I said someone had put some incorrect rubber inserts in the bin and I was handed the incorrect one. They set one aside for me to pickup today, it should fit fine (they measured the length for me).I will try cleaning the inserts in the future with alcohol to keep them in clean condition.Regards, Redbeagle

The pontiac dealer wanted $38 for it, so this will help me out.

Yeah when I went to replace the blade (the blade itself, not just the edge insert, and not the whole arm, just the blade like normal) GM wanted $27+tax CDN for it - yeah right. So I went to Toyota - same part $14 after tax. Canadian of course. Just ask for the rear wiper for a Matrix.
