Yes; a 195/65 x 15" Corolla fits, gives the same revs/mile as stock, and the taller, narrower (and cheaper!) tires should bite better in deep snow. Lots of Vibes/Matrixes (matrices?) have gone this route. I pre-sold my stock wheels and ordered above before my base Frosty 5sp. even arrived two days ago. (18" or 19" planned for Spring) I went for the Dunlop Winter Sport M2 over the more common Blizzak M-50 as it ranked better in The Tire Rack's survey in all other categories (realistically, 85% of winter driving is on dry roads) and was only a tick behind in snow traction. My best price though was $CAN 120, vs this forum's quotes as low as $80 at COSTCO for Michelin Arctic Alpins. (My stock wheels are going on a Matrix out of Cobourg, as he found the OE 17" to be terrible last winter)
