Would still end up with a Vibe. Just probably a GT instead of a 5spd base Vibe.

I'm happy with my Vibe. To me the only significant difference between the two is the exterior styling, so since I still prefer the look of the Vibe, I'd still buy a Vibe.

I wasn't even in the market for a new car but GM made me an offer I couldn't refuse in Jan. 2003 - increased my $950 GM Card Credit to $2,003 plus a $2,000 reg. rebate plus the $1,050 dealer discount. So, for about $13,650 plus tax etc I got a well equipped base Vibe which replaced my 2nd car - a 1986 Buick Century with 33,000 miles inherited from my Dad. I suspect a similar Matrix would have been $3-4,000 more and the Pontiac dealer is a lot closer than the Toyota dealer. The Matrix has the advantage of the 5 yr 60,000 mile power train warranty but in 5 years I will only put perhaps 30-35,000 miles on this car so I doubt that there will be any powertrain failure.

I would not change anything except going with a monotone instead of a two-tone.

Nothin'. 2003 Vibe GT. I even like the Lava 2tone I got (I had wanted Satellite).Never liked the lines of the Matrix, personally...

Still would buy a Vibe...probably another Base Monotone, but maybe another color (Salsa or Neptune). As you can see, we're a pretty loyal crowd in here!

If I had the chance to do it again, I would definitely get another Vibe. I would avoid the Slate interior, and go for the Graphite instead. Slate shows too much from where I'm always spilling stuff. lol! I may get a few other options my car doesn't have, but wouldn't change much else. If I could go back in time, I'd try to find an Envy. Otherwise, I'm sticking with Neptune.

I bought my Trix because it had the best price. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still get whichever had the best price!

I would still have a Vibe, but it would be an Envy, monotone 6 speed GT.

Vibe. 1. Because the Pontiac dealer is local and the Toyota dealers are out-of-town.2. I like the Vibe styling. The '05 Vibe styling is better than the '05 Trix, but I still prefer the '03-04 Vibe look. The Vibe looks good, mono or 2-tone, unmodified or lowered, steelies or alloys. IMO, the Matrix looks great lowered with 18" wheels and whatever they call the factory bodykit, but a stock XR looks unfinished and very plain to me.3. Despite resale value differences for used Pontiacs vs. used Toyotas, being able to get the Vibe serviced locally is worth a lot. (Like my last car, I'll probably keep the Vibe until it no longer has a resale value.)

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

I did have to buy another one, and it was another vibe, checked out the matrix, but just don't like the body styling, and the seats were not as comfy. and a higher sticker price.
