Bypassing the Tunes

Post by LocDog »

Ok so i have the moons and tunes package and i got a new head unit. Now thw problem is that the head unit is already amplified and it goes into the factory amp, This blew out 3 of my speakers.I was wonderin if theres a way to connect the harness that goes to the amp to the wires that go out of it so that i can bypass it. I know the right way would be to just intall new wiring but im not up to that...

Why not just buy a set of speakers that can handle the watts your pushing? Also another thing. Even if you have a head unit that pushes more watts than your speakrs can handle, if you don't turn it up all the way you still wouldn't blow them. Turn up the volume until you start to hear the speaker distort. Back off the volume just a little until the sounds gets clear again. You should never blow a speaker again. Playing the volume at max will blow any speaker at some point.

Even the finest amps will blow a speaker--Here's how. When you drive any amp into clipping or distortion you start to generate unwanted DC voltage to the speakers. This is what blows them--not the excessive shaking of the cone but the DC voltage ruins the voice coil. So as the last thread said ---Any time you hear distortion---Back off the volume.
