We just used tie-down rope (that twined rope that knots up but easily unravels itself when necessary to un-knot).We used a criss-crossed pattern across the tree from siderack to siderack. It was as taught as we could get it. It's an 8 foot tree so we could see the stump through the sunroof It only overhung a foot or less. We came in from the country back home to the city via the expressway so I was doing a good 60 mph (while the sidestreets were a mess, Buffalo is good at maintaning the highways when we get slammed with snow).Buffalo owns the snow.

Nice Job !! I hauled my tree the exact same way, roped criss-cross and removed the antenna. I put down a small tarp over the roof and roof racks to keep the tree from scratching anything. You have me beat with the snow in Buffalo, your vibe looks great in it.It does not snow here where I live.I will post my pic later.Happy Holidays to all

It looks like this: I recommend trying a hardware store (or... most places that sell Xmas trees will have this twine already). But... for sure, the hardware store will have it.

8 feet, eh?I'm guessing 6.5 or maybe 7 at most. Why? 5 feet between the tailgate and the back of the front seats. I've been hauling several exactly 5' long stands lately, and they either poke the back of the front seats or poke the inside of the tailgate. The top of your tree appears to stop before the tailgate ends, and the trunk stops about 1.5 to 2' in front of the rear of the front seat. So 5' + 2' equals 7 at most. So, is the picture not showing the full height of the tree, or are tree stories like fish stories? Just teasin'KSNeptune

I have 9 ft. ceilings, and from the picture (without the star) you can see that the top is less than an inch from the ceiling and the base raises the tree about 1 foot.If you're measuring from the very last branch which shoots straight out, it's easily 8 feet. Take another look at the strapped picture, you'll see the top shoots off at least a foot from the end of the car.8 feet. Yep

Impressive!!! Did you by-pass DRL switch to have all those white bulbs lighted all the time?? Kidding. Is there anything else VIBE can hold that easy? Any members with such great pics and different cargo on or in your VIBE...

OK then. The original picture doesn't show the top end of tree very well. Kind gets lost with the foreground tree.9' foot ceilings, eh? Looks more like 7.5 or 8 at best, judging from the 6'5 to 7' tree standing there! Alas, I was never good at estimating sizes of anything. In my eyes my wife has never weighed over 105, a 2x4 still looks 2" x 4" to me, and a litre looks exactly like a quart. Oh well. KSNeptune
Like I said earlier, no snow here in San Jose, Ca.This is my sons first Christmas, so I wanted to get a tree early so we can enjoy it for a little longer than usual. I dont have pictures of the tree all lighted up, but he likes to sit and gaze at all the colorful lights. Here are a few pics of my vibe with the tree and a couple of pics of the vibe itself.I hope I did this right, first timer :http://photos.yahoo.com/kikos_vibe-Marcos-
You and your dad, did a great job Marcos. No much snow down there but it will be an memorable moment for your kid, first Xmas tree. Don't know if it`s "Christmas magical moment" but on your pics the Vibe looks "dark green" instead of...may be black! It could be a nice color for future Vibe generation, don't you think?

HAMMERHEAD,Yeah, those are 19" with BFGoodrich Scorcher T/A's # 225/35ZR19 84W rubber all the way around. It took me 2 weeks to negotiate the dealer to sell me the car with out the $3G mark-up for them.It was great to get a phone call from the dealer saying that they would agree to my purchase conditions. To be honest with you, I never test drove the GT with stock rims. I just fell in live with #1, the power this little 4 banger has#2, the overall comfort of the Vibe, new baby boy was the main purchase of this great little car.#3, the looks and more importantly how light these rims feel when you hit the gas. The tires dont screach on cornering at all, awseome traction.I do pick up a little more road noise than usual, but that what the radio is for. The only complaint I have with the large rim and tire is that the car tends to wander now and then(not bad at all). But that is because I still have the stock suspension and ride height. That will all dissapear when I hook up the ground control set up some time next spring. It doesnt bother me as much as it worries the wife, it makes her uncomfortable, but she gets it now. SCTM,Thanks, it is a memorable moment. Actually I have the black abyss color. But it has been raining alot out here as of late and all the junk and dirt stick to the car. You should see it right now, it almost looks gray Major rain over the weekend.Dark green? maybe Pontiac should take a look and consider -Marcos-
