can you just buy the mirror part for a side view mirror?

Post by korgull »

Argh.. darn construction.. wont get into it... Anyway, the mirror body is fine, Im just missing the mirror part as it flew off when I sideswiped an orange barrel (luckily no body damage other than some minor scrapes to the gray wheel fender). Does anybody know if I can just buy the mirror part? Im assuming it just snaps on.. maybe not..thanks

Ill answer my own question.. yes, you can buy just the glass.. Pontiac wants $34 for it.. sounds ok to me.. takes five days to get in though.. Any chance the Matrix has the same glass?

When something similar happened to me with my Honda Prelude, I went to an auto glass business and they fixed it. It was pretty reasonable (if I remember correctly, about $20).

well.. being as I need the backing plate as well, I just ordered it from Pontiac.. I checked on the Matrix part (still not sure if it would fit), but they wanted $42 for it!?? I heard that in general parts for the Vibe would be more expensive because Toyota would be selling it to Pontiac and in turn selling it to me, in which Pontiac would have to add their "cut" of the profit.. oh well.. I guess overall I got lucky in this accident that it wasnt worse..
