I found this forum googling for what oil to use for our 2003 Vibe GT. Not only is this place great for technical tips (like choosing a battery), but it seems like a nice community.Let me introduce us first. My name is Paul, and I'm engaged to Hillary. We entered the Vibe family about three months ago when Hillary went to the Saturn dealership in Harrisburg to look at the Vues. Someone had apparently traded in a Vibe, which they had parked between to Vues. She fell in love with it. It was big enough to hold everything we'd like to carry, had a roof rack and sunroof (Moon & Tunes), and, most importantly, *wasn't a station wagon.*Turns out the poor thing had over 50K miles on it! Someone had bought it and only driven it on the highway, so the clutch was still in excellent shape. This was good because Hillary was going to be learning to drive stick on this clutch. I had two days to teach her, and then she had to drive through some of the worst rush hour traffic in the area to get to work on Monday. I followed her, but she did fine.We absolutely love our Vibe. We took it on a 300 mile jaunt this weekend, and had our Powerbook plugged into the 115V AC outlet and our GPS hanging from the rear-view mirror. I especially like that it can hold a lot of stuff and still performs like a champ. It's just enough sport ute for us.All that power can be intoxicating. The cars we've driven before (a 1990 Jetta, 1990 Pontiac Sunbird, and a 1999 Mazda Protege that I currently drive) don't have nearly the power of our GT. Opening her up on back roads must be what they're talking about when they say "fuel for the soul." And even though it has all that power, it still gets good mileage. Though 34 mpg highway is nothing compared to the 57 mpg city my mom gets in her Prius!
Awesome. One of the things I miss about driving a junker car was being able to fix it myself. Today's project for the Vibe: battery swap-out (the old one is leaking) and oil change!
